Here are some letters from my third grade students on a topic they know a lot about- How they are doing in school this year.

I am doing good in school this year. I get a lot of As and Bs. My best subject is Social Studies. Once I got a C in Math but I am doing much better. In the beginning of school I had a hard time in Reading. Now it is one of my best subjects. I made a lot of friends this year. I like playing soccer at recess. I also like taking a break from schoolwork at lunch. I think my teacher is very, very nice this year. Even though I like school I like the weekend better.I think I'm doing well in school this year! My favorite subject is Math. I get a lot of 100s and I like that. My mom always tells me to do well in school. I like my teacher; she is the best! On my report card I do very well. I went from a B+ to an A+. I've learned a lot about the solar system. Now in reading, I'm getting ready for the Pep tests. I like school so I try hard.I think I got a good report card for the third marking period. The only subject I went down in was writing. I got better marks because I studied hard. I got a B+ in Math which is my favorite subject. I think I will do even better in the fourth marking period. My mom and dad were proud of my high marks. My mom took my sister and I and both my grandmas to Friendlys. My grandmas gave me $5. I am proud of myself too. I will try even harder next marking period.In school this year my teacher say I'm doing excellent. On my report cards, homework, and tests I always get good marks. I always work hard to become smarter. My work is never handed in late. I'm always willing to help and volunteer. Another reason I'm a good student is that I follow the rules. In order to be in the band I practice hard on my clarinet. Whenever we get to work with partners my partner and I work quietly so people can concentrate. Whatever my teacher says I do it right away. The main reason that I'm doing good in school is because I have intelligent teachers to teach me.I am doing great in school. I got great grades too. Some questions are hard in the Math packets that we are getting. There are a lot of easy things to do in school, like Science, Gym, Reading, and Spelling tests. At recess we have fun by just walking around and talking. The people I talk to are Ryan and Thomas. My favorite subject is Science. I like school. My favorite thing to do is go to my special, eat snacks, and go out for recess. I'm hanging in there and doing O.K.
