Tryouts are over for the junior varsity baseball team.

Congratulations to all players and welcome to a fun, educational and memorable season. The first home game is against West Hempstead at 4:15 p.m. on April 1. They are coming together as a team and playing their scrimmages well. Overall, the team looks solid in all positions. Team members are: Dan Beale, Anthony Casale, Mike Cavalcante, Ken Chaput, Joe Cohen, Chris Donahue, Joe Iglio, Scott Kapica,Tom Lombardi, Frank Maculuso, Chris Mason, Bryan Mercer, Tim O'Shea, Rushi Patel, Tom Provenzano, Brett Rottkamp, Chris Rupp, Chris Schnepp and Derek Zavada. The team is working on improving their baseball skills, learning more about the game, working as a team (19-1) and most important, having fun. All the players have a big heart and try their hardest to improve. It's going to be a fun and exciting season with these athletes.

The Island Trees junior varsity softball team has started off the new season with the Lady Bulldogs winning their game against Calhoun. The team's power hitting led them into a successful game. The team is looking for a fun, safe and successful season. The girls get most of their support and direction from their two coaches, Mr. Goldberg and Mr. Dvorak.
