Two weeks ago an article about how Division Avenue High School is a focus of concern for the Levittown School District appeared in the Levittown Tribune. Since that time we have heard from parents, teachers, and students about this issue.

I just got back from covering another story at Division, when a student asked me why I was there if I thought Division Avenue High School was so bad. Unfortunately a news story does not always reflect a positive image. These stories reflect facts that have been presented rather than opinion. 'Division Avenue Is a Focus of Concern' was about the decisions that the board was making based on recent test scores at Division.

The Levittown School Board has taken a positive step. By deciding to allot certain funds to the improvement of DAHS, they are fixing a problem.

Many parents are concerned about the education that their students are receiving at Division. The information that was reported was from parents who addressed the board, the school board, and central administration. The facts are there. Instead of wearing blinders about the problems, people should be happy that the school board is setting aside money for the improvement of the school.

The Levittown Tribune is more than happy to print your opinions about this subject. It is wonderful to see that people care enough to face the board regarding this problem and are concerned enough about any negative impressions that may have been given about Division to write about how they view the school. This is obviously an important issue to many people and it is wonderful that people take the time out of their schedule to address it.
