Sports 'Center' of AttentionIsland Trees High School alumna Karen McClelland is one of the four returning starters for the women's basketball team at the State University at Binghamton.McClelland was an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference all-star as a freshman after averaging 12 points and eight rebounds for the 1996-97 Colonials, which finished the season a school-record 23-4. The Binghamton women began their season this past weekend at the Southwestern (Texas) tournament, and are slated to visit the State University at Stony Brook Saturday afternoon, Nov. 29 at 2. Their other opponents include Old Westbury, New York University, Brandeis and Medgar Evers. |
