It was another great outing for the mighty Cardinals who displayed both offensive power and defensive excellence against a very good Angels team today. The hitting assault was led by John Napolitano who not only just missed hitting for the cycle (single, double, triple, 1 RBI, 1 run scored), but made a great diving catch of a hard hit line drive to 3rd base. Also swinging a hot bat was Sean O’Connor (2 singles, 2 RBI, 1 run scored) and Andrew Colgan (single, double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored) who also continued to display impressive fielding skills and a tremendously strong arm in the field. Jake Glueck, who hit a single and his third double of the season, and Anthony DePompeis, who hit 3 singles, combined to drive in two runs and score another two runs. Scott Schanter displayed great range at 2nd base with a nice play of a sharply hit ball to nail the runner at 1st base and contributed offensively with a single and a run scored. Grant Joseph not only hit a single but was steady at 2nd base while Alessandro Lacerra did a solid job in the outfield and behind the plate as catcher. Kenny Gensch and Joseph Griffin each flashed the leather in the field.
