The Dodgers braved the elements and played another great game. The hitting continues to improve and was displayed with ropes to the outfield by Cenzo Montoni, Mathew Merolla, Brian Kornreich, Nicholas Marsella, Danny McCellan and Joey Muratore. Speed remains another weapon as Michael Campagnoulo and Justin Yang beat out close plays at first. The fielding continues to improve and the entire team was involved in multiple outs. Paulie DePaulis and Justin Marsella who were temporarily traded to even out the sides, kept the Braves in the game with 2 hits each and heads up play in the field.
The A’s played an outstanding game, excelling in offense while nearly shutting out their opponents. Sam Motelson made several nice defensive plays including a play at home and smashing several long drives to the outfield. Ryan Lessing went 5 for 5 with a sizzling line drive to left field. Ben Goodwin and Eli Goodwin covered the infield and each made several nice plays, including sprints to beat out plays at first base. Jon Vlantis was sparkling with his glove and continued launching bombs from the plate. Matthew Farkas and Jack Nathan also made contributions that helped lead the A’s to their best game of the year.
It was a well played game on both sides. There were great plays in the field by Andrew Wang and Alessandro Gullo. Alessandro made a great pick on a short hop to first. Offensive stars for the Braves were Erik Lyngstad Hughes & Daniel Garcia with 4 hits each. Special thanks to Paul Depaulis & Justin Marsella with 3 hits each. Ryan Wasserman contributed with 2 hits and an unassisted put out.
The Diamondbacks played a great defensive game this weekend down at the yard. This week’s Gold Gloves go to A. Newman, P. Carreca and CJ Riccobono for great middle infield play and turning a unassisted double play. This week’s slugger awards go to S. Kern, D. Kareef, J. Tamara P. Menist and S. Ugolini.
