The New Hyde Park Little League held its Annual Sports Award Breakfast at the Inn at New Hyde Park.
The setting alone in this gorgeous venue is enough to make you happy for the day, with the beautiful flowers as you enter and throughout and just the overall bright and happy look of the entire place.
The large dining room, where the event was held, quickly filled up with happy and eager New Hyde Park Little Leaguers, most in uniform, happy to attend and claim a trophy.
At the helm of this great organization is Thomas Pellegrino, who has been in charge for a number of years and who has “made a difference.” Further, he has working with him many excellent coaches, assistant coaches and parents who are toally devoted to making sure the kids have everything they need to help them become winners.
Pellegrino also works in conjunction with the Village of New Hyde Park and village representative trustee Rich Coppola, who has also been involved in the Little League for many, many years. Also, the Department of Parks, who makes sure that all the fields are in pristine shape for any and all ball games. In other words, there are many facets that are needed to be able to run such a successful league and this year is certainly an example of that with the winning girls softball team capturing the spotlight with its unbeaten schedule.
