The New Hyde Park Little League held a spectacular 50th Anniversary Ball and it was a smashing success as neighbors gathered at The Inn At New Hyde Park for a night of fun to celebrate not only the rich history of the Little League, but also the lasting friendships which evolve during the "Little League Years".

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the establishment of the NHPLL Hall Of Fame which will serve to perpetuate the memory of those special individuals, teams, or sponsors who have demonstrated a unique ambition cultivating NHPLL while facilitating its unparalleled success.

There was an emotional standing ovation for Hayden Avellini who 41 years ago led NHPLL to the first and only LL World Championship.

Also, New Hyde Park Village Mayor Petruccio presented Little League President Thomas Pellegrino with a plaque marking the occasion.

And, as a added perk, the entire staff at The Inn did a marvelous job of serving and dealing with so many Little League fans.
