On March 31, we held a St. Baldrick's Event at Marcus Christ Hall. I am very happy and proud to say that the residents of New Hyde Park and neighboring villages came out in force to help make the event a huge success. Together we have raised over $12,000 to help with research for childhood cancer. I would like to thank you all for your generous donations and moral support. In particular, a special thank you goes out to the Village Board members and Mayor for the use of Marcus Christ Hall. This event could not have occurred without the help of the following people and businesses. Eileen Raguseo, Dawn Doherty, and Janet Bevers of the village hall donated their time to help initiate and run activities on the day of the event. Ellen La Regina, Florence Lisanti and Rich Pollisco all went above and beyond to help spread the word and to make sure that Marcus Christ Hall was looking its best. Thank you. Our shavers Noreen Smith, Toni Ann Centrella, and Artemis Sims gave their time and expertise by ensuring that all the shavees who volunteered to have their heads shaved left with a clean, shiny do. Thank you. Remo's Deli, Dominick's Deli, and Horn of Plenty Fruit & Vegetables donated delicious food. Thank you. Denton House Mc Donald's, Walk Street Tavern, Fitness Revolution, and Modell's generously provided our raffle prizes. Thank you. Pat Farrell kept everyone smiling as he entertained with his musical talents. Thank you. My sincere thanks go out to all of those mentioned and to so many others. Whether you made a donation, told a friend, came down to root us on, brought a dessert, snapped a few pictures or gave a kind word of encouragement...I thank you all.
