New Hyde Park Village Clerk/Treasurer Patrick Farrell (Piano Pat), POP Officer Nick Mosesso and Garden City Park School Principal James Svendsen were among just a few of the dignitaries who had their heads shaved last week at Marcus Christ Hall on the grounds of New Hyde Park Village Hall for St. Baldrick's Foundation.

The mission of the St. Baldrick's Foundation is to raise awareness and funds to cure kids' cancer by supporting cancer research and fellowships. This is accomplished by donations to those who are having their heads shaved.

And, that is exactly what happened in the Village of New Hyde Park last week. After all was said and done, the event was able to raise close to $10,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

The event was organized and promoted by New Hyde Park 3rd Precinct POP (Problem Oriented Police) Officer Nick Mosesso, who was also a "shavee."

Marcus Christ Hall was packed with both children and adults as Farrell played tune after tune on the piano, even while he himself was being shaved by 3rd Precinct crossing guard Artemis Sims. Logo
