If you have ever dreamed about conducting a locker room interview with the newly crowned Super Bowl champions, you can find out what it takes by enrolling in the hands-on intensive Sportscasting Institute. Weeklong summer workshops are offered for both teens and adults.
The Teen Sportscasting Workshop is offered July 20-24, and the Adult Sportscasting Workshop is offered August 3-8.
The Sportscasting Institute is directed by veteran sports broadcaster Ed Ingles and teaching staff includes well-known sportscasters Len Berman, Samantha Ryan, Sam Rosen, Mike Breen, John Discepolo, Kenny Albert and others to be announced.
The Institute emphasizes the development of skills in television and radio reporting, anchoring, play-by-play and commentative broadcasting techniques. Through the use of in-class remote assignments, reinforced by sustained practice sessions, students are instructed in all the different facets of sports broadcasting, including talk radio and such multimedia applications as Web site sports writing and reporting and the related use of the Internet.
