January is National Skating Month. To celebrate, Cantiague Park's indoor ice rink will host a free ice skating exhibition on Jan.19th.
Many Nassau County ice skating and ice dancing champions and competitors will perform on Cantiague ice from 12:15 to 1 p.m. on January 19th. The program will begin with warm up and introductions and will then feature three-minute performances by:
Mona Moslem, 2008 Nassau County Pre-Juvenile Champion
Danielle Blesi, 2008 Nassau County Juvenile Champion
Adrianna Gonera, Junior National competitor, freestyle
Lindsey Klein, double gold medal ice dancer
Brooke Demetri and Michael Chang , Junior National Paris competitors.
The program will also include a group ice dance performance and a hockey/figure skating exhibition.
This free program is sponsored by Nassau County Parks and the Cantiague Figure Skating Club. The afternoon public skating session will immediately follow the exhibition. All regular admission and skate rental fees will apply.
