On Sept. 5 the local members of the Team for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer will hold a fundraiser at the American Legion Hall, 730 Willis Avenue, Williston Park, from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The walk involves two intensive days of walking around Manhattan and covers many, many miles.

Members of the local team include: Jackie Hazel, Kristi McPartland, Timmy Casey, Tara Bridges, Mary O'Toole, Kim Stepinowski, Chris Flaherty, Barbara Lorenzo and Jen Reichart.
