The NHP Funeral Home "Reds" Vs. The Grant Thornton "Mets"
The Reds slid their way to an outstanding game verse the Mets. Sliding into home, the girls were led by Amanda Garcia, Lyndsay Lapidus, Haley Lempert, Victoria Kaiser and Joanna Vissichelli. Facing live pitching for the second straight week, the girls continue to demonstrate great progress. Defense with quick fielding and accurate throws are a signature of a well played Reds game and Katie Fitzgerald, Claire O'Regan, Lia DiMitri, and Brianna Kerrane all made great plays in the field.
NHP Gino's Pizzeria "Dodgers" Vs. First Medical Urgent Care "Cubs"The Dodgers were ready to play and displayed their readiness with great fielding and hitting. Kevin Walsh, Michael Morrone, Kevin Griffin, and Adrian Balkcom played great at first base. Mathew Jubin and Devon Roth were sharp at shortstop. Vincenzo Montoni and Alessandro Gullo showed their skill with two force outs at third base.

The Fundamentals of Baseball "Yankees" Vs. Baxter Sports "Cubs"
The Yankees had plenty of hitting and fielding at the yard this week. The Slugger awards go to J. Raphael, P .Mc teirnan, and CJ. Riccobono. The Gold glove awards go to P.Mc teirnan, M. O'Neill,L. Tesserio, C. Carbone and CJ. Riccobono. Our team all had wonderful contributions on the infield and outfield by C.Goodwin,L. Montalbano, F. Stigliano, B. Lee, C. Vincente and S. Chiche. NHP Kiwanis Club "Mets" Vs. The T. F. O'Brien "Athletics"
The Mets have been playing sound baseball with Matthew Rivera and John Napolitano going 3 for 3. Christopher Bruccoleri, Nicholas Lopez, Nicholas Capelle, Nicholas Ryan and Herbie Hagemann each scored a run. Joseph Griffin, Tyler Dauble, Scott Schanter and Nicholas Rakamaric each went 1 for 2. Alex Lacerra recorded a 2 for 2 day at the plate.

Fundamentals of Baseball "Yankees" Vs. Grant Thornton "Dodgers"
The Yankees were in full swing this week down at the yard. The game ended on a triple play. The play was started by Matthew O'Neilll catching a liner up the middle and throwing, to CJ Riccobono at shortstop who tagged to different runners who had been on the move. This week's gold glove awards go to both of these young players. The Slugger awards go to CC Carbone, S Chiche, C Goodwin, B Lee, P McTeirnan, L Montalbano, M O'Neill , J Raphael, CJ Riccobono, F Stigliano and L Tessoriero. Till ext time always run 'em out.

The Grant Thornton Dodgers put in another strong performance against the Yankees. Several players had four hits each in the game including Billy Schillinger, Jonathan Sanchez, Michael Kurre and Scott Goodman. In additional several players had three hits each in the game including Sean Rice, Sean O'Leary, Luke Pullo, Matthew Schultz, Chris Kerrane, William Birkdale and Daniel Goldberg.

Grant Thornton, LLP "Dodgers" Vs. Baxter's Sport Shop "Cubs"
The Cubs played their second game in four days and looked very sharp. Levi Weisser and Adam Sperling showed gold glove form with spectacular plays setting down the opposition in order. Sean Fishbein, George Vlantis, Jake Glueck and Jonathan Lopez each hit doubles adding to their RBI totals. Jordan Seidenberg, Nicholas Mustakis-Guidice, Matthew Solomon, Anthony Treadwell and Daniel Mattei contributed with their speedy base-running, each scoring multiple runs. With the season winding down the Cubs are looking forward to the skills competition.

Sperry Associate "Angels" Vs. Gigi's Italian Restaurant "Marlins"
The "comeback kids" did it again last night, scoring 4 runs in the last inning to win their first playoff game against the mighty Marlins. The Angels' pitching was outstanding, led by David West, Michael Zuschlag, James Castaldi and Jake Secker, who kept the Marlins within 2 runs until the final inning. The amazing last inning rally began with Nick Mrakovcic and James Castaldi reaching base with a hit-by-pitch and a walk. With the stage set, Jake Secker and Rasul Rahman smacked booming back-to-back doubles to score 2 runs, followed by clutch singles by David West and Michael Zuschlag to score 2 more runs. A key defensive play came in the 3rd inning when catcher Michael Lynch skillfully applied a tag to a runner trying to score at home plate to snuff out a Marlins rally. Adam Krieger and John Denara both hit the ball hard, but were robbed of hits by a strong Marlins defense. Brian Park stole 2 bases and made a nice play in the outfield to hold a Marlin hitter to a single. Also providing solid defense in the Angels' team effort were Jimmy Denara and Tyler Baron.

J&K Electrical Corp. "Rockies" Vs. Stutzmann Funeral Home "Cardinals"
The Rockies played very well against a good Cardinal Team. Their defense and pitching was outstanding, led by Gregory Donovan's unassisted double play, Andrew Filacoma's shut out inning of pitching and Vincent Rossello's one inning 3 strike-outs. Also, on defense Kyle Berlinsky made a nifty played at third, Lucas Cowan nailed a base runner at the plate and Jibran Gilani made a nice catch in the outfield. Also, pitching well was Anthony Bartolotta, Harry Schildkraut and Matt Fitzgerald. Armand Baklajian, Daniel Kim and Jacob Leeds tried to spark the offense with good at bats.

Ridgewood Savings Bank "Reds" Vs. Mike's NHP Convenience Store "Pirates"
The Reds came out on top in a high scoring affair with the Pirates. The game's hitting stars were Andrew Kraus, Brendan Sullivan, Brett Dieber and Peter Tagios, who eached reached base three times. The fielding efforts of Michael Varrone, Sam Berk and RJ Donohue were immense. The pitching of Michael Lopez and Zeeshan Anwar completed the victory.

Dr. Margaret Zadnik, DDS,PC "Blue Jays" Vs. Hand Rolled Bagels "Rays"
The Blue Jays offense was led by Justin Roth (2 hits), Daniel Hodes (2hits), Colton Schnall, Nick Winkhart, Andrew Cursio, Mike Carbone and Jake Raher, all with one hit each. Frankie Saladino reached base twice. The defense was led by Slater Dvoor, who made a great catch to shut down the Devil Rays rally and Griffin Adwar who also made a great catch, which earned him the game ball. Also contributing to the Blue Jay's success are Harrison Dvoor, Andrew Tse and James Cotumaccio.
Broadway Plaza Hotel "Astros" 8 Vs. Gigis Italian Restaurant "Mariners" 1
The Astros showed their stuff this past Wednesday in a well played game verse a determined Mariners team. The strong pitching of Guiseppe L and Zach S with rock solid catching of Pete D and Mike K set the defensive framework for the Astros. Outstanding glove work by Jake K, Jarod K, Thomas K along with overall great performances by Andrew K, Joe W, Gelraiz M, Brandon M completed the Astros defensive picture. Strong hitting by Guiseppe l, Zach S, Pete D, Mike K and Jake K rounded out the Astros effort.

Ridgewood Savings Bank "Reds" Vs. NHP Funeral Home "Red Sox"
The Reds came to play today and were firing on all cylinders. The pitching, fielding and hitting all came together at the same time. The hitting attack was lead by Same Berk, with two monstrous home runs, Michael Varrone, with 2 doubles and a rocket for a HR, Jessie Martinez, with 3 hits, Robbie Altheim, who reached base 3 times including a booming triple, and Jack Briamonte, who only reached base once but he hit the ball very well all 3 times he batted. In the field, Peter Tagios was a rock behind the plate, and Michael Lopez, Brett Dieber and Zeeshan Anwar contributed with the gloves.

City Line Florist "Ducks" 5 Vs. Dennett Law Offices "Bears" 3
Great game by both teams in a 5-3 Ducks victory. The Ducks and Bears played scoreless ball the first 4 innings as pitching dominated both sides. Ducks ace Brennan Scanlon was simply awesome in his 4 innings of work, striking out 9 and allowing just 1 hit. In the top of the 4th, the Ducks finally broke through. With two outs, Brett Alper smacked a single to center and stole 2nd base. Michael Barry drew a walk. Iman Khalid hit a laser to right to score the game's first run. The Bears came back with three in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-1 lead. In the top of the sixth, the Ducks came marching back. Again, with 2 outs, the Ducks offense came alive. Brennan Scanlon walked. Ryan Marder crushed a pitch to deep center for a game tying 2-run HR. Evan Clark singled and Mitchell Schwartz drew a walk. Each stole a base to make it second and third. Brett Alper stepped in a lined a single to right to score 2 more for the big comeback win! Brad Rutkin and Brandon Martinez were rock-solid behind the plate and Chris Ferlazzo made some nice plays at short.

Dittmeier wired shut!
Sponsor Director and Board member George Dittmeier was injured Saturday in a batting cage accident. George took a screaming line drive off the chin, hit by his hard-hitting Son, Eric. All of us at Merillon wish George a speedy recovery!
