Student Athlete Scholarship
The NHP Wildcats Soccer Club is pleased to announce the establishment of the Student Athlete Scholarship Award. This award is presented to young men and women who have played for the NHP Wildcats Soccer Club during their high school years and meet specific scholarship criteria.
The purpose of this award is to thank these players for their support and dedication to their local community soccer club. These players, many of which began their soccer career playing intramurals with the NHP Wildcats at 5 or 6 years old, are now heading off to college in the fall.
This year's scholarship recipients represent two NHP travel teams that started playing at U10 in 1999 and played a combined total of over 500 games through their U19 season. The players being awarded this scholarship were the heart and souls of the NHP Mountain Lions and the NHP Lady Lions.
We would also like to acknowledge that this great accomplishment comes only with the support and commitment of the player's parents and coaches who realized that creating an atmosphere of fun and friends is just as important as winning. These players' soccer résumés include several LIJSL 1st Place trophies, Waldbaums Championships, Sportsmanship Awards and even a State Cup Championship; but we hope what they remember most is the fun they had and the friends they made playing soccer in NHP. Good luck and success in college.

What an incredible win from the Lady Tigers in our playoff game. Aoife Fitzgerald surprised us all with blast to the back of the net with her first goal of the season! Our defense was led by Emma Nidermaier, Kimberly Keblish and Danielle Gerbe who were all rock solid and un-penetrable. Emma also later scored on her own. Gia Antoncci gave us the early lead with 2 fantastic goals dribbling through everyone. Natalie Kariotis and Margaret Donnelly were relentless on offense with many shots on goal. Amanda Madenberg head butted one of our players to save a goal. Gia also finished the game in goal for the victory. Good luck next week at the Championship game!

Lady Tigers held on the best they could without any subs. Margaret Donnelly scored with a fierce shot in goal followed by Catherine Lyons's blast to the back of the net. Natalie Kariotis played goalie most of the game punting the ball as far as she could. Emma Nidermaier, Danielle Gerbe and Aoife Fitzgerald held the defense the best they could. Amanda Madenberg made some great runs as forward. Great job!

Gia Antoncci had two breakaway goals to clinch the win and give us a comfortable lead. Emma Nidermaier later scored on a shot from the goal box. Margaret Donnelly and Natalie Kariotis pressured the offense with some shots wide of the net. Kimberly Keblish, Danielle Gerbe, Catherine Lyons, and Aoife Fitzgerald were our usual rock solid defense turning every attack away. Great win!
