J & K Electrical Contracting Corp. "Yankees" Vs. Gino's Pizzeria "Dodgers"
The Yankees benefited from a balanced attack. The Yanks offense was led by the awesome power of Aaron Newman and excellent clutch hitting by Christian Zamora, Jack Nathan & Ben Bidner. Joey Muratore, Scott Levy & Jack Knupfer chipped in with spectacular plays in the field and timely hitting. Matt Farkus & Alan Birnbaum ran the bases with the best of them and played like future all-stars.
NHP Gino's Pizzeria "Dodgers" Vs. J & K Electrical Contracting Corp. "Yankees"
The misty rain did not stop great defense by Devon Roth, Gianni D'Arduini, John Vlantis, Adrian Balkom, and Vincenzo Montoni. Hitting was also abundant with Kevin Walsh, Kevin Griffin, Michael Morrone, and Paul DePaulis bringing in runners on base. Matthew Jubin is showing improvement every week both in the field and at bat. Even injuries did not prevent Cenzo from making a great play and second and Paul Depaulis from scoring. Alessandro Gullo continues to play a great first base and fast around the bases.
First Med Urgent Medical "Cubs" Vs. Hand Rolled Bagel "Giants"
The Cubs came to the field ready to listen, learn and play hard. The newly devised defensive strategy of the Cubs was showcased by Cole Someck, Anthony Stigliano, Phillip Schurr, and Sam Silberg. The powerful bats of Paul Spagnoli, Danny McClellan, Paul Spagnoli, Aaron Canese, and our newest player Andrew, kept the Cub's base runners moving fast.The NHP Funeral Home "Reds" vs. The Grant Thornton LLP "Dodgers" Once again the Fabulous Reds are showing why they are referred to as "Cats". Quick fielding and defense highlighted their most recent effort against the Dodgers. Lia DiMitri, Katherine Fitzgerald and Lyndsay Lapidus charged every grounder making great throws to first basemen, Lauren Valencia and newcomer Haley. Claire O'Regan's speed helped convert timely hitting by Victoria Kaiser and Amanda Garcia into all the runs the Reds needed on this day.

Dr. Margaret Zadnik DDS. "Heat" Vs Mineola Lightning
Fielding was the name of the game for the Heat girls. Emma Quinn saved 2 runs with 2 unassisted plays at the plate. Camryn Finkel at third base took part in 3 put outs, with assistance from Gia Maniaci and Sophia Leeds. Jackie Courtesis made a nice play at third base to get
the runner. The fielding play of the game came from Lauren Vicente, who closed out the 4th inning by catching a line drive, and stepping on third for a double play. Lauren also had a great day at the plate- 3 hits, 2RBI's and 2 runs. Krysta Sollecito, Nadia Bari, and Emily Budhram, took some nice cuts at the plate getting a hit a piece. Elise Gonzalez went 3/3 with 2 RBI's. Justine Kraus went 3/3 with some hard hit line drives. Mariella Facibene had 2 hits and scored a run. Sophia L. rocked the plate with 3 big hits and 3 runs scored, Jackie C.went 3/3 with 1RBI, Camryn F. pounded out 3 line drives, and Maria Pesiri went 2/2 and 2 RBI's.

Bagels N A Whole Lot More "Wildcats" Vs.Mineola Lightning
Leading the way were Camryn Dluglinski, Daniella Connor and Hannah Kareff had 5 hits each. Kasey Borduas, Una Reid, Kristina Bennett and Lauren Wasserman each had 3 hits. Lauren Wasserman also scored 3 big runs for the Wildcats. Joanna Mauceri made a great play in the field, snagging a line drive out. Isabella Fazzolari continues to hit the ball hard and make some nice plays in the field.

Bagels N A Whole Lot More "Wildcats" Vs. Glen Oaks Mariners
With only five players, the Wildcats went wild with hits & runs. Hannah Kareff had 5 hits, 2 went to the outfield & she made some great plays at first base. Daniella Connor had 4 big hits and made a nice put out at first base. Alana Moran had 4 big hits. Isabella Fazzolari had 2 big hits, scored a run and made some nice plays in the field.

Skanska USA Building "Diamonds" Vs. Glen Oaks
The Diamonds got their first victory today led strong pitching, hard hitting and good defense. Melissa Mastrodis pitched 3 good innings and got the win. Theresa Zuchlag pitched 4 good innings and earned the save. The hits came from all, highlighted by; Jessica Thomas' grand slam & 5 RBIs, Sydney Spector 2 hits, Nicole Sanchez 2 hits & 2 RBIs, Jennifer McHale 1 hit & 1 RBI, Stephanie Donovan and Kerry Donohue each with 1 hit. The defensive plays of the game came from Gabriella Barelli with an outstanding catch in the outfield and Ashley Kimkowski's clever play at the plate for a hard put out.

NHP Kiwanis Club "Mets" Vs T.F. O'Brien "Athletics"
Several of the Mets had a good day at the plate. Mathew Rivera scored 4 runs while John Napolitano went 4 for 5 & Herbie Hagemann went 3 for 4. Joseph Griffin went 3 for 5 and scored a run. Scott Schanter, Alex Lacerra & Christopher Bruccoleri each scored a run as well.

The Fundamentals of Baseball "Yankees" Vs. The Grant Thornton "Dodgers"
There was hits a plenty at the yard this week for the Yankees our slugger awards are as follows; C. Carbone,CJ Riccobono, F Stigilano, J Raphael,L Montalbano,C Vincente, C Goodwin,P Mc Tiernan and S Chiche. This week's Gold Glove awards go to CJ Riccobono, J Raphael and P Mc Tiernan.
Grant Thornton "Dodgers" Vs. The Fundamentals of Baseball "Yankees"
Sean O'Leary, Sean Rice, Luke Pullo and Michael Kurre led the offense with several hits to the outfield and many runs scored. Christopher Kerrane led the defense making two outstanding outs at second base. Solid hitting and base running by Matthew Schultz, Scott Goodman, Lawrence Lin, Daniel Goldberg, William Birkdale and Billy Schillinger ensured a great game for the Dodgers
May 2
State Bank of Long Island "Nationals" Vs. First Met Urgent Medical "Braves"
These two teams fought to the end in this Friday Night's Slugfest. The Nationals hitting barrage was led by Spencer Horowitz and Evan Chaleff both hitting hard shots and on multiple occasions to the outfield. Other hitting stars were John Tagios, Spencer Kerth, Shayne Simoncini, Jason Mathew, and Mathew Baronci who all had at least 3 hits a piece. Fielding gems were made by both Thomas Mangin and Sean O'Conner. Thomas caught a fly ball in the infield and then calmly stepped on first base for an assist double play. Sean made several catches that saved extra runs from scoring.
First Med Urgent Medical "Braves" Vs. State Bank of LI "Nationals"
The Braves stayed hot on this cool night at Manor Oaks, mixing offensive power with defense and our trademark hustle. Elliot Weissman went 4 for 4, sprinting to beat out an infield hit in his last at-bat. Julian Montenegro and Sam Ugolini were also perfect at the plate. Philip Menist drilled an RBI single in the 2nd inning and Derek Coval had one of the longest hits of the year in the 3rd. Eric Madenberg, Raymond Grisalfi & Ryan Cooney were solid at the plate and in the field. Jake Blancher turned in a fine inning on the mound. Peter Carreca had a stellar 4th inning at 3rd base, involved in all 3 outs including a near miraculous catch and throw by Dylan Kareff from left center to end the inning.

T.F. O'Brien "Athletics" Vs. First Med Urgent Medical "Twins"
The Athletics played excellent defense behind Joe Dampman, Tim Lee and Dean Vayias who each recorded multiple put-outs in the field. Joe, Dean and Zach Sonkin led the offense as each smashed several hard line drives in the game. Smart base running and timely hits also were had by Ryan Quintiliano, Daniel Ross and Nick Barry. Peter Vayias and Dylan Schmidt were also solid in the field, and at the plate each with multiple hits and each scoring multiple runs in this exciting game!
State Bank of Long Island "Nationals" Vs. Grant Thornton "Dodgers"
The defense was led by William Birkdale who made a great play at second base and Sean O'Leary who made several great plays in the infield. Solid hitting and base running by Sean Rice and Michael Kurre who each scored 4 runs led the offense. Massive hits into the outfield by Billy Schillinger, Sean O'Leary and Jonathan Sanchez added to the offense. Scott Goodman and Luke Pullo did a great job hitting and playing several defensive positions.

Broadway Plaza Hotel "Indians" Vs. Virgilio Chiropratic "Phillies"
Another close well played game by both sides contributed to an exciting finish. Strong pitching by Thomas Mussina, Christian and Matt Lorandini held the Phillies to 5 runs, with excellent fielding by Joe Sullivan, Mark, Greg Anthony & J.J. Behind the plate was Fran, holding down the steals, and strong hitting by Matt, Jacob and Anthony. A towering HR by Christian Carrick brought in 3 runs, and was the difference in the victory.

Gigi Italian Restaurant "Marlins" Vs BAB Mechanical "Rangers"
The Marlins were excited to play on the new Dietz field. Pitchers Anthony Carbone, Harris
Monoson & Ryan O'Hare all pitched carefully around the hard hitting Rangers. Jason Seidman was solid behind the plate guiding his pitchers. The hitting stars were Chris valentine, Harris Monoson, Andrew Kadish and Matt Ferrante. Nicky Favale, Eric Gonzalez and Gabriel Rodriguez played a solid infield.
Sperry Associates "Angels" Vs. Plaza Hotel "Indians"
The Angels' comeback tonight fell just a little short against the Indians, despite great hitting by Rasul Rahman (double), David West (2 singles) Nick Marakovcic (2 singles), Michael Zuschlag (2 singles), James Castaldi (single), John Denara (single) and Adam Krieger (single). Making their pitching debuts were Brian Park and Tyler Baron, with Alessandro Drudi providing solid defense at second base. Speedster Jimmy Denara swiped 3 bases and scored twice.

Gigi Italian Restaurant "Marlins" Vs. Skanska USA Building "Brewers"
Pitchers Ryan O'Hare, Chris Valentine and Nick Favale, with the guidance of Jason
Seidman behind the plate, were able to pitch around the hard hitting Brewers. The Marlins bats finally started to wake up. Chris Valentine & Andrew Kadish both went 3 for 3, Matt O'Connor, Eric Gonzales, Matt Ferrante and Jason Seidman all got 2 hits.
T.F. O'Brien Diamondbacks Vs. Stutzmann Funeral Home Cardinals
The Diamondbacks lost a heartbreaker, 4-3, to the tough Cardinals, when the Cardinals scored 2 in the bottom of the 6th for the win. The entire game was tight and pitchers ruled the day. Excellent pitching for the Diamondbacks was performed by Blake Cohen, Jack Belmonte, Greg Haynes and Jacob Seidenberg, with a total of 4 scoreless innings among them. All three runs for the Diamondbacks scored on a base-clearing triple off the bat of Greg Haynes. Strong defense, keeping the mighty Cardinals off the scoreboard for most of the game, was displayed by the entire team, including Ben Newman, Kevin Peteroy, Jacob Portnoy, Brian Volk, Jordan Greiff and Corey Rutkin.

J&K Electrical Corp "Rockies" Vs. Virgilio Chiropratic "Phillies"
The Rockies almost pulled one out today, thanks to strong pitching from Will Athenas, Kyle Berlinsky, Andrew Filacoma, Lucas Cowan & Vincent Rossello. The hits today came from Anthony Bartlotta, Gregory Donovan & Jibron Gilani. Armond Baklajian was on base twice and scored a run. Matt Fitzgerald was strong behind the dish today.

Ridgewood Savings Bank "Reds" Vs. Gigi's Italian Restaurant "Mariners"
The Reds hitting attack was powered by Alex Cowan, who homered in the first inning, Michael Varrone with 3 hits, including a triple, and Michael Lopez, who also reached base 3 times. The game marked the return of Peter Tagios from the disabled list. He jumped right back into the action by tossing 2 scoreless innings. Robbie Altheim, Brendan Sullivan, Zeeshan Anwar and Jessie Martinez also pitched a solid inning each.
April 23
Ridgewood Savings Bank "Reds" Vs. Mike's NHP Convenience Store "Pirates"
Strong effort was turned in by the Ridgewood Savings Bank Reds. Tonight's hitting stars were Michael Lopez with three hits, and Peter Tagios who reached base 3 times. The pitching carried the day, with excellent outings turned in by Jessie Martinez, Michael Varrone, RJ Donohue, and Peter Tagios. The defense was once again lead by Brendan Sullivan, who was flawless behind the plate. Thanks to Thomas Murphy and Gregory Donovan for stepping in and helping us out.

Ridgewood Savings Bank "Reds" vs. NHP Funeral Home "Red Sox"
The mighty Ridgewood Savings Bank Reds struck early and often against the Red Sox. Michael Lopez and Zeeshan Anwar each stroked 4 hits on the day. Jack Briamonte, Brendan Sullivan and Sam Berk reached base three times each. Andrew Kraus boomed a grand slam to break the game open in the late innings. The pitching stars were RJ Donohue and Michael Varrone who each tossed a scoreless frame each.
Gigi's Italian Restaurant "Mariners" Vs. F&F Roofing "Orioles"
The Mariners beat the Orioles by the score of 11-2. The pitching by Mitch Cohen and Justin Marder, 13 strikeouts combined, was excellent as was the catching of Giovanni Castelli & Ryan O'Donnell, Tyler Ng, Tommy Labruna, Spencer Diamond, Stephen Andretta & Michael Fiala led the offense, which is starting to heat up. The defense of Max Nettler and Joey Leonardo was great.

Gigi's Italian Restaurant "Mariners" Vs. Hand Rolled Bagels "Rays"
It was an exciting come from behind 6-5 win for the Mariners. After falling behind early, the Mariners offense led by Justin Marder, Giovanni Castelli, Stephen Andretta, Spencer Diamond, & Ryan O'Donnell, they chipped away and were able to catch up and take the lead. The defense of Tommy Labruna, Joey Leonardo, Michael Fiala, and Richie Glasser kept the score within reach. Strong pitching by Mitch Cohen, Max Nettler, and Tyler Ng held the Devil rays offense to 5 runs.
Margaret Zadnik DDS,PC "Blue Jays" Vs. F&F Roffing "Orioles"
This game was a pitching duel to the end and both teams played great fundamental baseball. The Blue Jays pitching was solid as usual. Starter Daniel Hodes (9 k's) went 4 strong innings, Andrew Cursio bridged the gap to closer Colton Schnall, who delivered one pitch to close the door. The Blue Jays offense was led by Colton Schnall, Justin Roth, Mike Carbone and James Cotumaccio. Jake Raher was given the game ball for his much improved play. Also contributing to the Blue Jays undefeated start of the season are Slater Dvoor, Harrison Dvoor, Griffin Anwar and Nick Winkhart. Frankie Saladino handled the catching duties.
F & F Roofing "Orioles" Vs. Dr. Margaret Zadnik, D.D.S., PC "Blue Jays"
The Orioles and Blue Jays played a great game of baseball that ended in a 1 -1 tie. The Orioles had solid pitching from Justin DiDonato and James Messina with a combined 13 strikeouts and 2 walks. Brian Haug had a great game with 2 singles and a dramatic catch in foul territory. Good back up and fielding efforts came from David Goodman, Nick Miceli, David Lapidus, Nick Zovich, Jarrett Greben, Zachary Leventhal, Gavin Schwartz, Ethan Volk and Mike Sitzer.

Broadway Plaza Hotel "Astros" 5 Vs. Ridgewood Savings Bank "Reds" 3
A terrific game for the Astros in their most recent success versus a determined Reds squad. Solid pitching efforts were delivered by Guisseppe L and Zach S along with tough as nails catching by Pete D and Mike K. The defensive plays in the field were provided by Jake K, Brendan M, Andrew K, Joe W & Edik I. The offense was pushed by the strong at bat appearances of Guiseppe L, Pete D, TJ K, Mike K, Mike F, Danny Z and Jarod K. Play of the game goes to Gelraz M who smashed a clutch shot in the third inning which earned him the game ball and an army of fans.

Margaret Zadnik, DDS,PC "Blue Jays" Vs. NHP Funeral Home "Red Sox"
These two teams met for the first time this season and the first inning was the difference in the game. The defensive play of the game was turned in by Jake Raher in the first inning to hold the Red Sox scoreless. Then in the bottom have of the first Justin Roth singled, Colton Schnall and Daniel Hodes both walked and James Cotumaccio delivered a double which earned him the game ball and that was all the scoring the Blue Jays needed. Also contributing to the Blue Jays success are Slater Dvoor who made a sparkling play at 3rd, Harrison Dvoor, Mike Carbone & Nick Winkhart made his catching debut and did a great job.
F & F Roofing "Orioles" Vs. Broadway Plaza Hotel "Astros"
The Orioles won against a good Astros team with a score of 5 - 0. There were 7 strike outs and 1 walk between the good pitching of Justin DiDonato & James Messina. The Orioles bats were very active with a HR and a triple from Jarrett Greben, doubles from James Messina, Zachary Leventhal and Gavin Schwartz. Ethan Volk chimed in with 3 singles and Brian Haug with 1 of his own. Eric Rennie, David Goodman and David Lapidus had a good eye at the plate with a walk from each. Nick Miceli played a solid third base with 2 great outs. James Messina also had 2 great plays on the mound. The Orioles game was completed with a good effort from Nick Zovich.

City Line Florist "Ducks" 5 Vs. Ace Hardware "Cyclones" 1
The high-flying Ducks had everything working for them, defeating a powerful Cyclones team 5-1. Ducks pitchers Brennan Scanlon and Travis Finkel were awesome, allowing just 2 hits while striking out ten Cyclone hitters. The Ducks were also flashing their leather today, making some amazing plays in the field. Ryan Marder made a terrific, diving grab in CF to end a Cyclones threat. Peter Ferrante made 2 super plays at 2B and 3B, and Brandon Martinez ended the game with a nifty double play. The Ducks got on the board in the second inning when Brad Rutkin singled. Brandon laid down a beautiful bunt to sac him to second. After Brad stole third, Peter knocked him in with a grounder to the right side for a 1-0 lead. In the third, Andrew Korpacz led off with a walk and stole second. Chris Ferlazzo knocked him in with a single then stole two bases. Brett Alper walked and stole second and Travis Finkel knocked in a run with a towering sac fly. In the 4th, Brennan led off with a single, and then stole 2 bases. Evan Clark walked and stole second. Brad rapped a double to right to score 2 more Ducks. Michael Barry and Iman Khalid took some nice swings today

J&K Electrical Contracting Corp. "Pride" Vs. Ace Hardware "Cyclones"
The Pride fell to the mighty Cyclones in this one, but super efforts were put in by every player. Dylan Forrester, Sam Weinbaum, Tyler Carrick, Ben Lee, Thomas Kelly and Joe DiMonte flashed the leather in the field. Chris Cataldo went 2 for 3 on the afternoon with a RBI. DannyLuchino, doubled for 2 RBI and walked, scoring 2 runs. Call up James Messina reached base twice on 2 singles and scored a run when he stole home.
