The "Mets" Vs. "Cubs"

Lead by the strong hitting of Hans DeWitte, Jonathon Leung & Arnav Handa, and the speedy base running of Justin Balwan and Ryan Gonzalez, the Mets are tough to defend against. On defense we were lead by the stellar play of Marc Baronci, Noah Kashman and Stephen DeRocchis. The entire team played solid defense.

The "Reds" Vs. "Yankees"

The Fabulous Reds have served notice to the rest of the Instructional Division with strong defense and timely hitting verse the Mighty Yankees and that they are not to be taken lightly. Remember the names Lauren Valencia, Anjali Rampersaud, Claire O'Regan, Alessia LaSala, Lyndsay Lapidus, Brianna Kerrane, Victoria Kaiser, Katherine Fitzgerald, Lia DiMitri, Amanda Garcia & Joanna Vissichelli as they fulfill their journey through the Merillon Instructional Division and become the future stars of our great Town.

The Dodgers vs. Giants

On offense, Cenzo Montoni, Kevin Walsh, Michael Morrone, Kevin Griffin, Jubin Mathew, and Devon Roth had big hits. Gianni D'Arduini, Adrian Balkcom, John Viantis, Christian Sollecito were naturals playing the infield. Paul Depaulis and Alessandro Gullo seem to be the team's speedsters.

Boys Upper Farms

"Marlins" vs. "Diamondbacks"

The Marlins were lead by a strong pitching by fireballer Harris Monoson, Ryan O'Hare, Anthony Carbone and closer Chris Valentine. Our strong defense was lead by Jason Seidman behind the plate, Nick Favale, Andrew Kadish, Gabriel Rodriguez, Mike Telsey, Eric Gonzalez and Matt Ferrante were able to keep the strong hitting Diamondbacks at bay.

Skanska USA Building "Brewers" vs. "Rangers"

The Brewers opened their season this past Saturday afternoon with a bang and a victory over a tough and well respected Rangers team by a score of 7-4. Outstanding pitching in the first two innings by 8 year olds Andrew Cogan and Conner Wong is just what the Brewers needed to help them jump out to an early lead. The rest of the pitching rotation was outstanding with solid performances by Kenneth Tse and Anthony Lanzilotta; keeping the hard hitting Rangers to only four runs the entire game. Anthony Lanzilotta was able to scratch out 2 base hits while Jake Ginsberg and Reid Alper also had key hits in the Brewers winning effort. Jake Ginsberg & Sam Livers performed admirably on defense in their catching debuts. Joe Dunn, Brendan Nolty, Brian Korpaz & Nicholas Arman also showed off their skills against the Rangers on both sides of the plate.

"Angels" vs. "Rockies"

The Angels opened their season with an exciting game against the Rockies. Starting pitcher, Michael Zuschlag, pitched well and helped his team with an RBI hit later in the game. Michael Lynch & Rasul Rahman each pitched a scoreless inning, with James Castaldi and Nicholas Mrakovcic rounding out the pitching duties. Brian Park had the hit of the game with a scorching triple that brought in 2 runs. Also swinging hot bats were David West and Jake Secker with 2 singles each. Solid defense was provided by Alessandro Drudi & John Denara in the field and Adam Krieger behind the plate, while speedsters Jimmy Denara & Tyler Baron each stole a base.

"Cardinals" vs. "Phillies"

The Cardinals got their season off to a solid start with strong pitching from Tommy Murphy, Anthony Pitre & Nicolas Mangia. The Cardinals also had offensive contributions from Ishan Handa, Louis Mangia, Anthony Verde, Brendan Quinn, James Reo, James Treadwell, George Saketos and Jared Schwartz.

"Rockies" vs. "Angels"

First game jitters were not an issue for Jibran Gilani and Daniel Kim, Jibran had 2 steals and a RBI and Daniel scored a key run in the 4th inning. The Rockies got strong pitching from Vincent Rossello, Will Athenas, Matthew Fitzgerald, Andrew Filacoma and Gregory Donovan. Also the Rockies received key contributions from Anthony Bartolotta who played a nifty shortstop, had a hit and stole a base, Harry Schildkraut who walked and hit the ball hard, Lucas Cowen who had a walk, a hit and a RBI and Jacob Leeds who stole 3 bases.

Boys Minors

March 30

"Devil Rays" vs. "Red Sox"

Strong starting pitching turned in by Jonathan Kestenbaum. Gregory Kyro, Shin Oka,

Joseph Tricarico & James Colgen all had key hits and scored multiple times. Solid catching by Benjamin Portnoy made it difficult for the opposition to score and he hit the long ball several times to drive in multiple runs. Cole Romano and Sean O'Hare had great games in the outfield and contributed at bat reaching base, stealing bases and scoring runs. Brett Baker came in to close the game out and he was sensational.

"Reds" vs. "Orioles"

The Orioles won against a good Reds team with a score of 7-3. Great pitching efforts came from Justin DiDonato, James Messina and Mike Sitzer with a total of 10 strike outs. Gavin Schwartz was awesome behind the plate. Team contributions at the plate came from Ethan Volk with a triple, Gavin Schwartz with a double and singles by both Zachary Loventhal & James Messina. Nick Zovich walked twice and the team showed aggressive base running with stolen bases from Brian Haug, David Goodman, Nick Miceli, David Lapidas, James Messina & Justin DiDonato. Good fielding by Eric Rennie and the entire Orioles team to help support their first win. .

"Astros" vs. "Blue Jays"

The Blue Jays were led by the starting pitching of Daniel Hodes (7 K's) in 3 innings of work. Mike Carbone followed with a strong middle relief and Andrew Cursio closed the game with a 1, 2, 3 inning. The Blue Jay bats heated up fast with the slugging of Frankie Saladino, Andrew Cursio, Colton Schnall, Andrew Tse & Justin Roth. The turning point of the game came when Griffin Anwar stole third and home and put the Blue Jays ahead for good. The Blue Jays held the mighty Astros offense with solid defense led by James Cotumaccio, Jake Raher, Nick Winkhart and Harrison Dvoor. Andrew Cursio was awarded the game ball for both his offensive and pitching performances.
