Another weekend and another exciting tournament for the NHP Blue Thunder Boys U7 team. The venue was the East Meadow Soccer Club's World Cup Tourney. This time the boys took home the 2nd place trophy by virtue of loosing the 4th tie-breaker (goals against) by one goal even though they only gave up 3 goals in four games. The kids played their hearts out once again and made their coaches very proud with their incredible effort. In goal was the always reliable Jack Lynch (two games) and Reggie Fan and Matthew O'Neill who made some pretty spectacular saves to salvage a tie with the eventual winner West Islip Club. When not in goal, Jack Lynch led a resolute defense which included Joe Judge, Andrew Higgins and occasionally Thomas Mangin when he needed a rest from the very demanding midfield position. Andrew Higgins and John Tagios pitched in at midfield when not busy playing forward with the steady Matthew O'Neill along with Reggie Fan, Kunal Sheth and Joe Judge. Great job boys! And a special "attaboy" to Thomas Mangin for being awarded the Tournament MVP award.
