The Merillon Athletic Association completed the field renovations at Manor Oaks School this past summer as part of an effort to provide improved playing conditions for the children in our community.
Merillon provided all the funding and volunteers and also collaborated with the Boy Scouts to complete this project within budget guidelines. As you can see from the before and after pictures on this page, the fields were transformed into quality baseball fields for our children to play on.
With increasing taxes and budget restrictions for the school district Merillon felt the need to address this as we do use the fields for over 100 children ages 6-7 in our Lower Farms division. The work included, removing old broken benches, grass and adding new benches, painting the back stop, new sod, 2 tons of new clay, safety capping and field signs.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the Boy Scouts and their project leader David Santana who used this project to attain his Eagle Scout status for doing a great job with a limited budget.
