Chairman of The Board Tony Camilleri:

Congratulations to Jim Richards on his election to the president of the Merillon Little League Association. Congratulations also to Joe Griffin, Dan Connors, Mike Verrone and Jim Cioffi on their election to the Merillon Board of Directors.

Many thanks to outgoing president Tom Murphy who will remain a member of the board of directors.

Vs. Ridgewood Savings Bank "Phillies"

The Cardinals are stuck on 22 hits. They did it again this time led by Harris Monoson's 4 hits, 2 doubles and 4 runs scored. Justin DiDonato had 5 hits and 3 RBIs, Vincent Rossello had 3 hits and 2 RBIs and James Castaldi had 3 more hits. Brian Park, Nicholas DiMaria and Gregory Donovan all had 2 hits a piece. Connor Wong played a solid second base and short stop making multiple plays.

Sperry Associates "Ducks" Vs. East Williston

Everyone on the Ducks contributed today, Ryan Marder, Vinny LaBruna & Alex Montalvo each blasted HRs & combined to drive in 12 runs. The Ducks offense scored in every inning, led by Chris Ferlazzo (2 singles, 2 walks, 3 runs, SB), Stephan Eranovic (single, walk, rbi, 2 runs), Ryan Marder (hit for the, cycle, 4 runs, 5 rbi), Vinny LaBruna (2 singles, HR, walk, 3 runs, 3 rbi, SB), Alex Montalvo (2 singles, grand-slam, 2 runs, 4 rbi), Katie Giesecke (2 singles, double, 3 runs), Evan Clark (2 singles, double, rbi, run), Chris Sacino (double, run, 2 rbi), Andy Ferrante (single, rbi) & Peter Ferrante (single, 2 walks, run, rbi). Pitchers Alex, Evan & Ryan combined to strike out 13 hitters while allowing just 4 hits.

Bagels N a hole lot more Garden City Park "Diamonds" (2)

Vs. Mineola (4)

The Diamonds played hard against a strong Mineola team, getting strong pitching from Ashley Kimkowski (3 innings, 1 run). However, they just couldn't get enough runs across leaving the tying run on second base. Gabby Tagios and Melissa Mastrodis' made key outfield plays to stop Mineola rallies. Jess Thomas scored both runs on steals of home and had 2 hits. Jessie Zabicki bunted for hit and Theresa Zucshlag had a hit as well. Melissa Feliciano, Stephanie Donovan hit the ball hard but to no avail and Krys Abberton handled the first 3 innings behind the plate.
