Gigi Italian Restaurant "Yankees" Vs. Wilson, Elser "Braves"

The Yankees in their cool powder blue uniforms opened the fall baseball season with a bang. Slugger awards this week go to Christopher Carbone, CJ Riccobono, Luke Tesoriero, Lawrence Lin, who had 2 long hits past the infield, Christian Ugolini, Sean O'Conner, Sean Fishbien and Madeline Slaski, who had 2 nice infield hits. Gold Glove Awards this week go to Christopher Carbone, CJ Riccobono, Sean Fishbien and Luke Tesoriero. Christian Uxgolini and Patrick McTiernan split the catching duties and did a fine job behind the plate catching in the heat. Stephen Albertini and Daniella Connor looked real good in the field and running the bases. Jacob Raphel is swinging the bat real good & looked good playing infield.

September 15

ABC Rental "Mets" Vs. Wilson, Elser "Braves"

The Mets and Braves managed to play a few innings, despite inclement weather. The hitting was led by John Napolitano with a single, double and RBI. Scott Schanter and Spencer Horowitz both had 2 singles. Samuel Chiche and Eleni Polichronakis pitched in with singles as well. On the defensive side, Ryan Cooney played a nice first base and Joseph Griffin made a nice play on a hard hit ball to short stop.

Gigi Italian Restaurant "Yankees" Vs. Stutzmann Funeral Home "Athletics"

A little rain does not keep the Yankees off the field. They came out slugging today. Slugger Awards this week go to Patrick McTiernan, Lawrence Lin, C J Riccobono & Jacob Raphael. All 4 contributed big hits, some to the outfield. The Gold Glove Awards this week go to Una Reid who caught a hot line drive back to the pitcher mound, Sean Fishbien made a great catch at second base, Patrick McTiernan caught a nice fly ball at first base & CJ Roccobono played a slick shortstop. The all girls outfield were fleet of foot with Madeline Slaski, Daniella Connor and added new player Una Reid. Other standouts today were, Christopher Carbone, who looks like a good lead off hitter, Luke Tesoriero continues his solid hitting and fielding, Sean O' Connor has got a sweet swing and looks fast on the bases. It's early in the fall season but the Yankees look like a solid group of young athletes.

NHP Funeral Home "Cardinals" Vs. SKANSKA USA Building Inc. "Angels"

The Cardinals bats were hot as they got 2 hits a piece from Nicholas DiMaria, Vincent Rossello, Harris Monoson and Jared Schwartz. They got RBI's from William Ban, Gregory Donovan, Justin DiDonato and James Castaldi chipped in with a base hit. The defensive was very sharp as David Lapidus made many nice plays, as did Connor Wong at second base and Andrew Colgan at short stop.

NHP Funeral Home "Cardinals" Vs. Vigilio Chiropractic "DBacks"

The Cardinals offense was led by Justin DiDonato's 3 hits. Nicholas DiMaria added 2 hits and both David Lapidus and Vincent Rossello chipped in with 1 hit. James Castaldi hit the ball hard but right at the Dbacks. The defense kept the game close with nice plays at 3rd base by Gregory Donovan. Andrew Colgan and Connor Wong kept the Cardinals strong up the middle. Jared Schwartz made his Cardinal debut behind the plate and did a good job.

Sperry Associate "Ducks" Vs. East Williston

The Ducks opened their fall season in fine fashion, beating a scrappy East Williston squad 18-1. The Ducks' victory today was a winning combination of power, speed and pitching that simply overwhelmed their opponent. The big hits were 2 towering HRs by Katie Giesecke and Ryan Marder. Everyone contributed in today's victory. Chris Ferlazzo doubled, walked twice, drove in 3e runs, scored 3 and stole 3 bases. Chris Sacino smacked 2 hits, drew a walk, scored 3, stole 4 bases and had an rbi. Alex Montalvo singled, walked and scored twice, stole 5 bases, and drove in a run. Ryan Marder hit a HR, walked and scored twice, and had an RBI. Evan Rabinowitz singled, got beaned, scored, and stole a base. Katie Giesecke hit a HR, got hit, drove in 2 and scored a run. Anthony Baldi singled and drove in 3 runs. Domenick Fazzolari singled, scored, and made a pretty catch in right. Peter Ferrante singled, walked, stole 2 bases and scored twice. Stephan Eranovic walked, singled, scored twice and stole 3 bases. Pitchers Alex, Chris, and Ryan combined to strike-out 9 East Williston hitters while allowing just 2 hits.

Broadway Plaza Hotel "Yankees" Vs. Port Washington

The Merillon Yankees kicked off their fall season playing the Port Washington Tomcats in a double header. The Tomcats took the first game 5-3. But in dramatic fashion, the Yankees scored 4 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and walked off with a second game victory 6-5! Let me introduce you to "The Boys of Fall"; Aaron Brenner, Andrew Pugliese, Brian Renta, Nick Simeoli, Jordan Grossman, Vinny Labruna, Steven Filicoma, Mike Ring, and Mike Glaser. The pitching in both games was excellent! Jordan, Vinny, Steve, Mike G, and Andrew all toed the rubber, and were outstanding! Mike R played a great center-field, and Brian a slick second base. Nick blasted the walk off hit with the bases loaded! Aaron did his usual great job as catcher.

Bagels N a Hole Lot More of Garden City Park "Diamonds" Vs. Rockville Ctr

The Diamonds beat Rockville Ctr. 9 - 5. The pitching was strong for the Diamonds, led by Melissa Mastrodis who pitched 3 innings allowing only 2 runs for the win. Jess Thomas pitched 2 strong innings for the save. All the girls chipped in with the bats, Theresa Zuschlag, Gabby Barilli, Gabby Tagios, Stephanie Donovan, Melissa Feliciano, Ashley Kimkowski, Jessie Zabicki and Kris Abberton all hit the ball hard.
