Unfortunately, some New Hyde Park/Garden City Park school board meetings were posted without the knowledge of this community. Many were sporadically taped onto school doors and mixed in with notices of the past. So unless you had free time to check every school and every door, you would not have been informed. I am writing this so you do not have to waste your time walking around school after school door after door, just to find information that justifiably is our right to know. Why this was done? We don't know. But there will not be a meeting, motion or decision that will be made without this town knowing. We are now aware. This woman cannot control our fate. Nor can decisions be made under a pretense that the wind may have blown a notice away. Could be the budget, new chairs, hot lunches or Christmas, we will be there. Please also be aware of the new starting time of the meetings at 7:30 p.m. That notice also must have gone in the wind but again, not before we were there. As of right now, slated meetings on September 10th, which will be the forum discussion for the Christmas Concert and the 24th. Please, though, check and re-check your papers and make notes of the days. Spread the word, call your friends and help let them know our trust in the board has been compromised and the 13th was not a one night thing. We are here to stay. Remember the starting time has been changed and dates seem to be added without notice. Michelle Chambers
