The Williston Park Fire Department held, as has been the custom for many years, one of the only Fourth of July Parades in the area.

The members of the Williston Park Fire Department make a great showing in a very special parade.
The marchers proudly stepped off on Hillside Avenue, headed north on Park Avenue and east back to Willis Avenue and eventually ended at the firehouse just south of Hillside on Willis Avenue where brief ceremonies were conducted.

The parade is not that large, but you can tell those marching were proud to be part of a celebration of the birthday of our country.

Not only did the Williston Park Fire Department participate, with all of its equipment, but so did the Albertson Fire Department and the East Williston Fire Department along with their auxiliaries, and the Knights of Columbus. Former Williston Park Mayor Roger Fay was the parade grand marshal.

Williston Park Mayor Ludwig Odierna and trustee Ann Marie Smith, with her daughter, were right behind the color guard, in full support of the efforts of the fire department.
