Stutzmann Funeral Home "Mets"
The "Triple - J Threat" led off the game with sharp hitting from Justin Kuzler, Jason Biviano & Jordon Chin. Stephen Farishian demonstrated what "The Babe" use to do by calling his shot to left field. Raymond Gresalfi made 2 great fielding plays at 2nd base knocking down a hard hit ground ball and making a perfect throw to 1st base. Matthew Reda played the pitchers mound perfectly stopping every ball hit towards him.
Virgilio Chiropractic "Power Puffs"
It was really good to see Katie Belmonte return to the lineup. Our power hitter continued where she left off, hitting the ball solid, getting several hits. Daniella Connor got several hits and made some good plays playing first base. Isabella Fazzolari continues to smack the ball hard and made several good throws in the field. Una Reid, a true switch hitter at 6 years old, got hits batting righty and lefty.
Sperry Associates "Nationals"
Today for the Nationals our hitters and fielders awards go to Christopher; 1B, CJ; P/2B, Luke; 2B & Matthew; SS. Our game day flashing the leather awards go to Nicholas; 3B, Garrison; LF, Jonathan; CF, Van Dyke; Left CF & Brandon; RF. They did it all from little ball to going yard.
ABC Rental "Dodgers"
Christoper Bruccoleri hit a ball to the outfield, way to go Chris! We also completed a true putout when Mathew Rivera fielded a ground ball and threw to Joseph Griffin playing first. The throw beat the runner by a full 3 steps. Francesco Stigliano & Nicholas Capelle both hit balls off the tee which were clearly singles. Scott Schanter & Nicholas Ryan got several chances playing 2nd base and showed poise in blocking the ball, recovering and throwing to first.
Dennett Law "Giants"
The Giants launched into hitting drills, with Jason Beeferman & Spencer Kern putting on an impressive lumber swinging performance. Jake Raphael scooped up countless infield grounders, for 1-3 putouts. A solidly hit ball up the middle was snagged by Jake Blancher for a force play at 2nd. At the hot corner, Dylan Kareff impressed all with his powerful throws to 1st base. And over at 1st base, Timothy Lee made a backhand scoop for the highlight reel. Sam Ugolini also took a turn at 1st base, impressing the fans with his versatility. Offensively, Philip Menist put in some good time at the batting Tee and sprayed impressive hits during the game, and Spencer Horowitz cleared the bases with a powerful swing of the bat.

Wilson Elser "Roadsters" Vs. Glen Oaks
Christina Talarico got her first hit of the season, and then logged 2 more hits for good measure. Danielle Michaels continued to wield the hot stick (4 hits). Carly Hirshon also reached base 4 times (3 hits, triple), Hally Silberg added a key hit in the all important 5th inning come from behind rally. The heads up base running award goes to Josette Molina, who stole 3rd and motored all the way home on the throw allowing the Roadsters to take the lead they would not relinquish. The pitchers Danielle Michaels & Lauren Pomerantz were steadfast on the mound. Kudos to Brianna Simeoli, who impressed with her strong pitching debut. Credit Carly with nailing the final out of the game, getting a strikeout with the bases juiced. Flashing leather at 1st were Rachel Warner & Lauren Pomerantz, who along with Rachel Kavanaugh would not let Glen Oaks come back.

Vs. Stutzmann Funeral Home "Thunder"
Caitlin Mahon hurled 2 strong innings for the Thunder and Kayla Buff did a superb job in relief. Patience at the plate was the name of the game as the Thunder tallied up 15 walks coupled with timely hitting by Carolyn DiMaria, Kiera Ward, Nicole Rossello, Emilee Abel, Kayla Buff & Emily DeMeo to spark the offense. Ally Barilli, Abby Sollecito, Victoria Pilosi, Laura Roantree & Caitlin Mahon all crossed the plate for the Thunder, racking up 9 runs.

Vs. Stutzmann Funeral Home "Thunder"
The Bandits defeated the Thunder in a tight well -fought match. The winning runs came on homeruns by Alexa Epstein & Dylan Livers. Also clutch hitting by Christina Formica & Brianna Patrizza contributed to this victory. The mighty Bandits are undefeated at 7-0!

Ace Hardware "Marlins" Vs. Skanska USA Building Inc. "Brewers"
The Marlins and Brewers played an exciting game. Star performances were turned in by Peter Tagios & Jake Raher, who reached base 3 times each; Reid Alper, David West, Richie Glasser, Cameron Pon, Domenick Petrizi & Slater Dvoor who reached base twice each. Michael Varrone pitched 2 shutout innings.

Vs. Mike's New Hyde Park Convenience Store "Rockies"
The great team effort was led by the bats of Michael Telsey, Michael Lopez, Eric Rennie, Thomas Fitzgerald & Peter Restivo. David Lapidus flashed the leather with some great work at 1st base including the last out. Ryan O'Hare & Christian Carrick held it down on the mound with some good pitching. Nick Campanella sparkled in the closer role shutting the door on the Rockies after a small rally threatened the game for the Angels. Jared Schwartz continued to show his prowess behind the plate. Christian's impressive 2 IP's earned him the game ball.

Virgilio Chiropractic "Angels" Vs. Baxter's Sport Shop "Yankees"
Again leading with their bats were Thomas Fitzgerald, Michael Lopez, Ryan O'Hare, Nick Campanella, Jared Schwartz & Eric Rennie. David Lapidus & Jake Guggenheimer led on the mound both throwing quality innings. Eric showed his improved glove work with a nice catch in the 3rd. Jared Kossover showed some pop with his bat with a towering shot in the 4th. Christian Carrick dazzled with his feet with 3 steals. Peter Restivo played an all around solid game as usual. Thomas' consistent production with the bat earned him the game ball.

Vs. Virgilio Chiropractic "Angels"
The Rockies' strong pitching, hitting and fielding were all on display versus the Angels. The pitchers all gave 1 strong inning, Jack Mangin, Lou Plomitallo, James Colgan and Anthony Lanzilotta. The hitting stars were Gregory Donovan, 3 hits & 3 RBIs, Mark Niewierowski also with 3 RBIs and Vincent Rossello with a hit & a RBI. Chris Vietri led the defense at second base and catcher. Call-up Andrew Colgan also contributed with his bat (RBI) and glove.
May 19
The City Line Florist "Indians" Vs. Ace Hardware "Marlins"
The pitching staff was lead by Tyler Ng who started his first game of the season, Matthew O'Connor & Justin Di Danato. The hitting stars were lead by Gregory Haynes who homered, Ryan O'Donnell who had a key hit late in the game, Matthew Ferrante & Brendan Sullivan. The defense had its best game of the year with great plays from James Messina, Joseph Leonardo, Jake Secker, Jacob Niederman & Brendan Sullivan.
Dr. Zadnik, DDS,PC "Phillies" Vs. Ridgewood Saving Bank "Giants"
The Phillies got some great pitching from Justin Roth (5 K's), who earned game ball for shut out pitching. Jordan Lempert (3 K's) & David Kimmel (3 K's) both pitched well. The Phillies offense combined for 15 hits and managed several runs. The Phillies bats were led by Corey Rutkin (4 for 4), Andrew Filocoma (3 for 4) & Zeeshan Anwar (2 for 4). Brendan Montenegro, Joshua Putter, Jack Belmonte & Steven Cascio all contributed to the Phillies success. After the game interim Manager Stu Lempart said "We played well on both offense and defense, the pitching was solid".

Vs Dennet Law Office "Cardinals"
The Rockies hung tough against a good Cardinal team. They fielded well led by James Colgan's catch in centerfield. Also, Gregory Donovan made a nice play on a grounder, Jack Mangin was strong behind the dish and Chris Vietri hustled all night at shortstop. The hitting stars were Anthony Lanzilotta (1 hit & 1 RBI), Jack Briamonte (1 hit & 2 RBI) and Jacob Leeds (2 bb & 1 run). The pitching standouts were Vincent Rossello and Louis Plomitallo.

The City Line Florist "Indians" Vs. Brancato "Rangers"
The Indians strong pitching lead by James Messina, Jacob Niederman, Justin Di Danato, Gregory Haynes, Joseph Leonardo & Brendan Sullivan did the job all day. On defense great plays by Brandon Gottlieb who threw out his first runner of the year, Jake Secker who has been playing a great 2nd base & Matthew Ferrante lead the way. Our hitting stars were Tyler Ng who has been hitting all year and Ryan O'Donnell was solid all day.

Vs. Dennett Law Offices "Cardinals"
These 2 teams collided for the first time this season and the Phillies managed to rally in the last inning to make it close. James Cotumaccio hit a bases clearing triple, which earned him the game ball, but the Phillies fell short. The offense was led by Jack Belmonte who also tripled, Corey Rutkin, Justin Roth, David Kimmel, Joshua Putter & Jordan Lempert. The key inning came when Steven Cascio was called in from the bull pen and closed the door on the Cardinals. Nick Winkhart was also called on to close the game. The pitching staff was handled by Andrew Filocoma and he did an outstanding job behind the plate.

Gigi Italian Restaurant "Mariners" (7) Vs. Nuzzi Fuel "Red Sox" (5)
The Mariners bats were on fire. A series of hits, walks, RBI's steals bunts, and aggressive at bats, by Anthony D'Ammassa, Andrew Curcio, Brad Rutkin, Jonathan Cioffi, Brennan Scanlon, Justin Kelly, Sean O'Hare, Alex Cowen & Evan Clark enabled the Mariners to run up 7 runs. Holding the Red Sox to 5 runs were Mariners pitchers Justin Kelly, Brad Rutkin, Jonathan Cioffi & Brennan Scanlon. Defensively all made great efforts.
May 20
Nuzzi Fuel "Red Sox" (2 )Vs. Hand Rolled Bagel "Pirates" (8)
The Pirates got strong pitching from Brett Alper, Andrew Schneider & Kyle Facibene and strong defense from Jon Kestenbaum, Tim McCormack & Brandon Martinez. Kestenbaum caught a line drive off his shoe tops and McCormack combined with cutoff man Schneider and catcher Martinez to catch the runner at the plate. Mitch Cohen had 3 RBI's, Griffin Adwar had 2 hits, Jon Kestenbaum had a long bases loaded single and Andrew Korpacz had a key hit to fuel a total team effort.
State Bank of Long Island "Blue Jays"
Vs. Andrea LoRusso-Pesiri, DC "Devil Rays"
The Blue Jays beat the Devils Rays 7-4 with 3 runs in the 4th. Ross Crames pitched 4 innings, while Dylan Forrester pitched 1 perfect inning. Ross Crames had an RBI single & run scored. Mike Sitzer & Jack Schildkraut both had RBI doubles. Jack also scored a run, as did Alex Putter & Justin Simoncini. Justin also made one of the defensive plays of the game, grabbing a sinking line drive in left field with 2 on and 2 out in the 4th. Dylan Forrester also sparkled defensively, starting a 6-6-3 double play in the 3rd. Jacob Levy stole 2 bases & Daniel Hodes stole 1. The defense was shored up by Jarrett Gross & Matt Kipnis.
Hand Rolled Bagels "Pirates" (8) Vs. Nuzzi Fuel Oil "Red Sox" (2)
The Red Sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st but the Pirates quickly came back with 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning en-route to an 8-2 Pirates victory. The Red Sox' 2 runs scored on a Cooper Spector-Salwen single, which scored Vinny Patrey & Ethan Volk. Volk finished the game with 2 hits as did Tom Kelly, who had a triple. Singles by Jake Grusd & Matt Esposito were among the other Red Sox offensive highlights. Meanwhile, line drives by Red Sox hitters Michael Barry & Ethan Schonhaut were caught on fine defensive plays by the Pirates. The Red Sox also received some solid defensive contributions from catchers Craig Schmid & Joe Dimonte, pitcher Mitch Schwartz, 2rd baseman Joe Tricarico & outfielder Ryan Tucker.

Vs. Stutzmann Funeral Home "Bears" (7)
Jake Phillips, Domenick Fazzolari & Joe Carbone did the pitching. The infield was manned by Ryan Gaitan, Andrew Pugliese, Michael Ring, Chris Rivera & Jonah Mittler. The outfield was patrolled by Domenico Fazzolari, Adrian Kwan & Michael Granieri. Michael also got his first hit of season, and made a nice catch in right field. Michael Glaser, did the catching. Peter Loduca, on the come back trail smashed a hit! It was a total team effort to gain a victory over the well coached and hard fighting Bears.

Austin ward led the charge pitching 2 innings and leading off. Mike Courtney had 2 hits this game. Nick Driscoll went 2 for 3 with a triple. Ben Manning used his keen sense at the plate to work out 2 walks. Ben also caught several innings. Nick also pitched for the first time this season. Dan Coster also pitched a strong inning. Thomas Jaklitsch stroked a double this game. Matt Ryan pitched 2 innings.
May 15

Vs. J&K Electrical Contracting Corp "Pride" (8)
Jordan Grossman led the Bears pitching heat this game. Austin Ward leadoff with a single. John Leva followed with a double & triple this game. Mike Courtney's hit drove in Austin. Mike also pitched several strong innings. Matt Perno went 2 for 2. Matt also pitched an inning and picked off 2 base runners. Something you don't see often. Travis Finkel's bat stroked 2 hits this game. Travis also pitched a strong 6th. Nick Driscoll & Dan Coster played some good defense. Tom Jaklitsch grabbed a ball in the gap and started the relay throw to get a runner out at 3rd. Ben Manning has played several positions well for the Bears. Anthony Stacom & Matt Ryan played hard for the team.

Vs. Stutzmann Funeral Home "Bears" (4)
Daniel Schwartz once again led the way with back to back homeruns. Joey Richards also continues to be hot at the plate smoking 2 base hits up the middle. Brett Kleinberg helped the Pride with 2 hits on the day. Tyler Carrick, Matt Hirshon, Stephen Farkas & Michael Xia also hammered the ball for extra base hits. Max Ginsberg, Philip Gonzalez & Evan Rabinowitz gloved anything and everything as usual. On the hill, Danny Luchino complimented his fastball with a nice off speed pitch etching 4Ks in the book over 3 innings. Pat Theo. at catcher is getting better and better every game framing and stealing strikes and keeping the runners in check with a strong arm.

Vs. J&K Electrical Contracting Corp. "Pride" (3)
Chris Ferlazzo pitched a 1-2-3 inning to get things started. Ryan Marder came in for the next 2, allowing just 1 hit while whiffing 3. Steve Popovich pitched the last 3 innings in fine fashion, striking out 8 Pride hitters, and allowing just 1 hit. The Ducks offense was led by Paul Reo's 3 run blast in the 3rd inning to put the game out of reach. Ross Hoffman got a hit today, Ryan Marder smacked 2 hits and scored a run. Steve Popovich doubled, scored twice and drove in a run. Brendan Lum had 2 big hits, scored twice and stole 2 bases. Paul Reo drove in another run with a single and a stolen base. Matt Zeiger had two great at-bats, drawing a walk both times, and stole a base. Matt Hershenhorn, Paul Goebel & Troy Driscoll all took some good swings today, and all made contributions with their gloves.

Even in defeat, the Pride showed promise in many areas such as a beautiful sacrifice RBI bunt by Philip Gonzalez which produced the only run scored by Michael Xia who again smacked a towering 3 bagger. Evan Rabinowitz, Brett Kleinberg & Matt Hirshon kept their hitting streaks alive with some nice hits. Tyler Carrick, Pat Theo., Joey Richards, Danny Luchino & Daniel Schwartz all fought hard to the last out and showed Pride. A special thanks to Matt Theo., a call-up from the Minors who played with the focus and confidence of a 12 year old.
