May 12

Sperry Associates "Nationals"

Our sluggers and fielders awards go to Christopher, CJ, Luke, Jonathan, and Nicholas. Our other position players were Dave, Van, Brendan, Andrew and Garrison.

ABC Rental "Dodgers" Vs. Sperry Associates "Nationals"

Francesco Stigliano, Christoper Bruccoleri & Nicholas Ryan had ground balls hit to them which they fielded and successfully threw to first base. Peter Vayias & Bailey Lee both did well in using their bodies to block balls that were difficult to field. Matthew Rivera, Joseph Griffin, Nicholas Capelle & Scott Schanter are showing more consistency in making good contact with the ball off the tee. Lawrence Lin & Christian Vincente both knew to throw the ball to first base and are starting to gain an understanding of the game situations.

Virgilio Chiropratic"Power Puffs"

Daniella Connor hit a shot off the T that went into the outfield. She is showing good contact with the ball. Isabella Fazzolari had some really good hits today and shows very good fielding skills.

Eleni Polichronakis had several good hits and made some good fielding plays. Una Reid continues to smack the ball all over the field runs fast around the bases and has a good arm.

May 6

Wilson Elser "Roadsters" (11) Vs. Stutzman Funeral Home "Thunder" (7)

Leading the charge and setting the tone at the plate with 2 hits apiece were Carly Hirshon, (4RBI), who started the Roadsters scoring barrage off with a bases clearing triple in the 1st, and Jackie Ferrante, also with 2 hits and a RBI. Joining the hit parade with solid shots were Alanna Fichtel, Hally Silberg, Lauren Pomerantz, Josette Molina & Camila Dilone. 2 innings of shutout starting pitching by Danielle Michaels was followed by shutdown relief from Rachel Warner & Carly Hirshon. Outstanding defense was displayed by Anna Lopez, Brianna Simeoli, Christina Talarico & Rachel Kavanaugh. The web Gem play of the game goes to Alanna Fichtel, who really flashed the leather snaring a hard shot to short.

May 7

Stutzmann Funeral Home "Thunder" Vs. Glen Oaks

Nicole Rossello got the nod for the Thunder and answered with 6 K's. Kayla Buff racked up 4 more K's in a superb relief appearance. Other defensive gems included Sabrina Posadas sticking with a play at 1st for an inning ending out and Carolyn DiMaria preventing Glen Oaks from blowing open the game with an awesome play out in right. Victoria Pilosi & Maggie McHale both put in strong catching performances. Erin Robinson, Emily DeMeo, Laura Roantree & Kiera Ward played tough in the outfield against a hard hitting Glen Oaks. Amanda DiMaria, Abby Sollecito, Sabrina Posadas, Maggie McHale & Carolyn DiMaria were all part of the offensive attack.

May 8

J&K Electrical Contracting "Heat" Vs. Mineola "Team #2"

Justine Kraus batting lead off had a great night at the plate (4 for 4, run scrored), and driving home the game tying run. Maria Pesiri, 3 big hits (RBI, run scored). Sophia Leeds used her big swing to hit some hard shots, drive in a run as well as scoring herself. Emma Quinn had some rocket shots, getting a hit, RBI & run scored. Sophie Robinson blasted 2 hits & drove in a run. Emily Budhram got a big lead off hit in the 5th inning, scoring a run. Krysta Sollecito had some good swings at the plate and did another nice turn in the catching position. Camryn Finkel & Mariella Facibene, formed a dynamic duo at pitcher and first base each making outstanding put outs. The always reliable and hard hitting Elise Gonzalez came through again with 3 hits and a RBI. Monica & Theresa Mattei had a great game on the field and at the plate.

May 12

J & K Electrical Contracting "Heat" Vs. Glen Oaks

Sophia Leeds used her cat-like reflexes to make and assist in 6 put outs. She showed great skill at pitcher, 1st & 2nd base. Monica Mattei was also stellar in the field at pitcher with 3 outstanding outs. Elise Gonzalez & Theresa Mattei did a fantastic job in the field with 2 put outs each. Maria Pesiri did a nice job at the plate with 3 big hits, using her speed to score 3 runs. Justine Kraus knocked out 6 hits & 3 RBI's and made some nice attempts in the field. Emily Budhram had 6 hits & 4 RBI's. Sophia went 7/ 7 & 3 RBI's, Elise had 4 hits & 3 RBI's, Monica with 5 hits & 5 runs scored, & Theresa with 4 hits & 4 runs scored.

New Hyde Park Elks "Mets" Vs. Modells "Braves"

The offense was led by A. Carbone, A. Depompeis, C. Valentine and D. Piccirillo. Strong Defensive plays by J. Napolitano, W. Athenas. A. Carbone, C. Valentine. H. Hagemann.

May 11

Sperry Associate "Nationals" Vs. Dr. Barbaro "Cubs"

This was an excellent game featuring power hitting from Josh Gal who smashed a hit down the left field line. Clutch defense was provided by David Goldstein & Michael Feinsilver. George Saketos was injured but came back quickly to help the team. Kevin Cook lined a hard hit up the middle. Ryan Quintiliano ran out an infield single. Thomas Mangin & Dean Vayias each provided key hits and defensive plays.

New Hyde Park " Mets" Vs. Grant Thornton "Dodgers"

Mets bats were on fire, the hitting was led by ''JJ" Alice, W. Athenas, C. Valentine, A. Carbone, and the big bomber himself A. Depompeis., J. Napolitano, H. Hagemann, V. Salgado and J. Dieber all made some strong big league plays.

The New Hyde Park Funeral Home "Diamondbacks"

Vs. Virgilio Chiropractic "Angels"

The Angels & Diamondbacks went back and forth; Andrew Kadish made his pitching debut

and did a fine job. Andrew also hit a line drive knocking in an RBI. Gregory Kyro & Zack Schreiber came in to finish the job on the mound. Michael Fiala hit another screaming line drive resulting in a double. Strong defense again by Jack Nuttall who also hit the ball hard. Solid defense turned in by Brett Baker, Pranshu Babber, Nicolas Favale & Harris Monoson who dove to prevent a throw from the outfield from going into dead territory. Get ready D'Backs, the season is about to start.

May 8

Ace Hardware "Marlins" Vs. The Fundamentals of Ball "White Sox"

Peter Tagios had a HR & 4 hits; Michael Varrone had a HR run & 2 hits; David West had 2 big hits; Dominick Patrizi reached base 3 times; Reid Alper, Richie Glasser, Cameron Pon & Chris Rodriguez each reached base twice. Jake Raher reached base and stole 2 bases. The pitching highlights were turned in by David West, Peter Tagios & Michael Varrone with 1 run given up over 3 innings.

The City Line Florist "Indians" Vs. The Virgilio Chiropractic "Angels"

The staff had a perfect game into the 4th inning, great job by Matthew O'Connor, Tyler Ng & James Messina on the mound. The offense was also strong as all players contributed at the plate. Big hits by Matthew Ferrante, Brendan Sullivan, Ryan O'Donnell & Jake Secker lead to a balanced attack. On defense. nice plays by Brandon Gottlieb, Joseph Leonardo & Jacob Niederman held the Angels in check all day.

Virgilio Chiropractic "Angels" Vs. City Line Florist "Indians"

The Indians displayed some power pitching keeping the Angels' bats mostly quiet. Eric Rennie & Peter Restivo broke through with some hits. Christian Carrick, Nick Campanella, Michael Lopez & Peter led the Angels' arms on the mound. Flashing the leather were David Lapidus, Jared Kossover, Michael Telsey & Ryan O'Hare. Ryan's unassisted double play in the 5th help earn him the game ball.

May 10

The New Hyde Park Funeral Home "Diamondbacks"

Vs. Dennett Law Offices "Cardinals"

Harris Monoson opened the pitching and held the Cardinal to no hits. Zack Schreiber came in to hold down our slim lead. Brett Baker came in to shut the door. A fine pitching performance turned in by the D'Backs. Michael Fiala, Jack Nuttall, Pranshu Babber, Nicolas Favale & Andrew Kadish all had hits. Gregory Kyro led off for the D'Backs and went 3 for 3 with a walk. Strong defense turned in by Kyle Berlinsky, Andrew Greiche & Matty Lorandini.

Mike's NHP Convenience Store "Rockies"

Vs. Baxter Sport Shop "Yankees"

The Rockies had their hitting shoes on led by, Chris Vietri & Jack Briamonte. Michael Husch had a double and James Colgan had 2 hits. Anthony Lanzilotta, Mark Niewierowski & Jacob Leeds chipped in with walks. Jack Mangin played stellar defense at 1st & 3rd. The pitching was tough as Gregory Donovan, Vincent Rossello & Louis Plomitallo combined to quiet the Yankees' bats.

May 12

Vs. Bracato "Rangers"

Gregory Kyro pitched well to start for the D'Backs. Nicolas Favale & Matty Lorandini came in to finish the pitching and did fine jobs. Strong catching once again by Zack Schreiber. Michael Fiala hit another screaming line drive resulting in a double. Strong defense by Brett Baker, Pranshu Babber, Andrew Kadish & Harris Monoson. Big hits by Harris Monoson, Nicolas Favale & Andrew Greice. Big Bomb of the game, Zack Schreiber hits a Grand Slam to close the game out as Zack received his 2nd game ball of the year.

Virgilio Chiropractic "Angels"

Vs. The Dr. Margaret Zadnik, DDS, PC "Phillies"

Leading the comeback were Thomas Fitzgerald (2B, 3 RBI), Michael Lopez (2 3B's, RBI) & Eric Rennie (2 RBI). Peter Restivo doubled in the 6th and after several walks Nick Campanella delivered a clutch walk off 2 run single. David Lapidus (3 runs scored), Jared Kossover, Jared Schwartz & Ryan O'Hare all reached base in the last inning to keep the game alive. Michael Telsey, Jared S. & Peter came through with solid innings on the mound. But the staff was led by David with 4 K's in 2 scoreless innings earning him the game ball.

Mike's NHP Convenience Store "Rockies"

Vs. Ridgewood Savings Bank "Giants"

The Rockies again were whacking the ball led by, Michael Husch & Anthony Lanzilotta with 3 hits apiece. Gregory Donovan scored 4 runs and Vincent Rossello 2 and Jacob Leeds had 2 walks, as the offense was hot. The Rockies had pitching debuts of Chris Vietri & Jack Briamonte and the defense turned in a double and triple play. Call up/over, Thomas Messina, Peter Tagios & John Kilkullen had a total 6 hits and some fine defensive plays.

May 11

Gigi Italian Restaurant "Mariners" (6) Vs. Nuzzi Fuel Oil "Red Sox" (4)

The Red Sox jumped out to a 4-0 lead on Michael Barry's single, which drove in 2 runs in the 1st and then added to their run total on a single by Vinny Patrey in the 2nd. But that was all the scoring the Red Sox were able to do against a tough Mariners bullpen in a game the Mariners eventually won, 6-4. Still, the Red Sox defense featured some outstanding plays by centerfielder Ethan Volk, shortstop Joe Dimonte, 2nd baseman Jake Grusd & catcher Craig Schmid. Right fielder Ryan Tucker also turned in a fine game, reaching base twice in 4 at-bats. Meanwhile, Red Sox relief pitcher Tom Kelly threw extremely well in the game's final innings, keeping the Red Sox within striking distance.

May 12

Tin Alley Grill "Astros" (3) Vs. State Bank of Long Island "Devil Rays" (1)

The Devil Rays were led by Ross Crames, Dylan Forrester & Frank D'Santos, each of whom pitched 2 innings, with Ross & Dylan also adding solo HRs. Jack Schildkraut coming back from an injured hand, caught and threw out 2 runners trying to steal, and also stole home himself. The pitching was supported by excellent defense all around from Daniel Hodes, Matt Kipris, Jacob Levy, Alex Putter, Justin Simoncini, Michael Sitzer & Frankie Suppa, but the play of the game was by Jarret Gross, who make a spectacular throw from deep left field on a fly to throw out a runner at the plate in the bottom of the 4th to preserve the lead.

May 8

Broadway Plaza Hotel "Cyclones" (5)

Vs. J&K Electrical Contracting "Pride" (12)

The Cyclone offense was led by Andrew Pugliese; he hit a 3 run HR and a single! The defensive play of the game was a great throw from Joe Carbone to catcher Ryan Gaitan tagging out a Pride runner at the plate! Chris Rivera, Jake Phillips & Michael Ring all pitched well, and will soon be in playoff form. Domenico Fazzolari, Jonah Mittler & Michael Granieri covered the outfield, and were outstanding. Adrian Kwan made a nifty play at 2nd base on a hard hit ball! Michael Glaser did his usual great job behind the plate, keeping the Cyclone pitching staff in the strike zone.

J & K Electrical Contracting Corp. "Pride" (12)

Vs. Broadway Plaza Hotel "Cyclones" (5)

Evan Rabinowitz led the charge with 2 triples, 2 runs scored, and closed out the game looking like Mariano Rivera earning him the game ball. Also pitching well for the Pride were Danny Luchino, Tyler Carrick & Steven Farkas who combined to strike out 8 batters. Michael Xia, Phillip Gonzalez, Matt Hirshon, Max Ginsberg & Brett Kleinberg played great defensively on the field. Joey Richards, Danny Luchino, Tyler Carrick, Pat Theodoropoulos, Steven Farkas & Daniel Schwartz all continued their hitting streaks with a total of 11 hits between them.

May 12

Wilson Elser "Ducks" 0 Vs. ABC Rental River "Sharks" 2

Both the Ducks and the River Sharks mustered just 3 hits between both teams, but the Sharks made theirs counts in their 2-0 victory. Ducks hurlers Brendan Lum & Chris Ferlazzo combined to whiff 5 Sharks, allowing just 2 hits. But the defense helped out in a big way today. Super plays in the field were made by Steven Popovich, Ryan Marder, Logan Diamond, Matt Zeiger, Chris Ferlazzo, Paul Goebel & Ross Hoffman. Catchers Mike West & Paul Reo were masterful behind the plate.

J & K Electrical Contracting Corp. "Pride" (5)

Vs. K of C # 2852 "Road Warriors" (1)

On the hill Danny Luchino & Daniel Schwartz together penciled 10 K's in the book while hitting their spots at will. Once again, Phillip Gonzalez, Michael Xia & Evan Rabinowitz made big plays on the field because of their "focus and hustle". Joey Richards ripped 2 laser base hits to right and Pat Theodoropoulos drove him in with his own 2 hits, including a 2 run HR. Matt Hirshon & Max Ginsberg also smacked line drive base hits while picking up an RBI each.
