The New Hyde Park Cyclones won the NJBL Fall Baseball League for the second consecutive year. The NHP Cyclones, with a 9-1 record, traveled to Ronkokoma to play the Long Island Baymen with a 10-0 record. The Cyclones could not afford to lose either game. The first game was dominated by overwhelming pitching by the Cyclones. NHP Cyclone starter Robert Wisnewski threw a complete game 3 hitter with 4 K's. The Cyclones were powered by the hitting of Kevin Caldas who went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, Kenny Wilcox 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's and Nicky Andali also 2 for 3. The defense also played great with outstanding fielding by Cris Longoria and Josh Betton. The second game the NHP Cyclones only needed a win or tie to win the division. The NHP Cyclones had to settle for a tie in 8 innings. The game looked out of reach for the Cyclones with 1 out in the top of the seventh trailing by 3 runs. The Cyclones second batter of the inning Nick Andali worked out a walk. Cris Longoria singled, David Velasquez singled to knock in one run. Next batter Robert Wisnewski singled up the middle to knock in another run and Kevin Caldas also singled to tie the game. Next batter JT O'Callaghan hit into a fielders choice to knock in the go ahead run. The Baymen came back in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game. Gibron Gurayah pitched the last three innings and let up no earned runs. Great defense by catcher Matt Pretter who was dominating behind the plate playing hurt most of the game. This was the most exciting game of the fall season. The NHP Cyclones take the title by winning the head to head tie breaker.
