Herricks Board Re-elects President Grisafi and Vice President Turner
At the Herricks School Board Re-organizational meeting the board, after he was installed as a trustee having won re-election, voted to re-elect Peter Grisafi as its president and Christine Turner as vice-president. Richard Buckley was also installed as trustee after winning re-election to the board. Both Grisafi and Buckley were given the oath of office by District Clerk Helen Costigan.
The Fire Departments of The Willistons Hold Fourth of July Parade
On a very hot, humid day, the fire departments of The Willistons marched front and center, along with village officials, down Hillside Avenue and through the streets of Williston Park to honor the birthday of our country, the Fourth of July. The parade, on the Fourth, an annual event, is only one of a very few parades held in Nassau County and it is a wonderful tribute.
Rains Ruin Herricks Fund Annual Carnival
The Herricks Community Fund was deeply affected by the torrential rains that started on the day of carnival, Thursday, and lasted until Saturday afternoon. The group was able to salvage a little part of Saturday night Sunday as the sun and crowds finally appeared. The fund is a very active organization that raises money for the various worthwhile programs at the Herricks' Schools. Many dedicated and hard-working people are involved as trustees to raise money for the fund including: Co-Vice President Harish Chugh, Treasurer Lewis Cohen, Co-President Sheryl Cohn, Co-Vice President Iona Davis, Erina DeRose, Richard DeMartino, Anthony D'Urso, 2nd Co-Vice president Paul Ehrbar, Harriet Gonzalez, Secretary Pat Goodsell, Lorraine Guerra, Carol Hayes, Susan Heinsohn, Paul Kopacz, Soy Lacey, Eleanor Leslie, Jacqueline McHugh, Christine Michelen, Isabel Milone, Maureen Nappi, Mary Ann Pierce, Lucille Romano, Jennie Santiago, Ann Tountas, Co-President, Christine Turner, 1st Co-Vice President and Anna Vrettos.
