T.F. O'Brien "Braves" Vs. Hand Rolled Bagels "Rangers"
The Braves returned to action against a tough Rangers team. Despite missing a few stalwarts and fielding only 7 players, some strong hitting was displayed by Harry Schildkraut, Corey Rutkin, Timothy Fogarty, Gregory Haynes & Jack Tucker, who each had big hits, including a bases-clearing smash by Greg. Excellent defense was turned in by Brian Volk on a fantastic stop and flip to first base to quell a big rally and by Dylan Silverstein who repeatedly snared hot shots up the middle. Missing players included Peter Restivo, Jacob Portnoy, Pranshu Babber & Jacob Seidenberg, who has been placed on the DL. As has been the case all season, all players displayed tremendous teamwork, sportsmanship and enthusiasm, and fun was had by all.

T.F. O'Brien "Braves" Vs. Celtic Corner Pub & Grub "Cubs"
The Braves wrapped up a very successful regular season with a well-played game against a strong Cubs team. After starting the game a little short-handed due to terrible traffic, a nearly full squad made it to the game to square off on a nice night. In one of the best efforts by both teams, strong hitting was displayed by Harry "Little General" Schildkraut, Corey "Manny Being Manny" Rutkin, Timothy "Silent Force" Fogarty, Dylan "Switch Hitter" Silverstein & Jack "Slugger" Tucker, who each had big, clutch hits. Excellent defense was turned in by Jacob "Where's Dinner" Portnoy on a great force out at 1st, Pranshu "Ichiro" Babber on a nice pop-up, Jordan "Birthday Boy" Greif on yet another unassisted double play, Brian "Little Papi" Volk on a terrific play at 1st & Gregory "Big Man" Haynes on a grab of a long fly ball to the outfield. Missing players included Peter Restivo & Jacob Seidenberg, who is working hard on his rehab while on the DL. As has been the case all season, all players displayed tremendous teamwork, sportsmanship & enthusiasm. Coach Judd & Coach Matt are very proud of all of you and thank you for being such a fun team to coach this season.
Hillside Beverage "Yankees" Vs. Hand Rolled Bagels "Rangers"
The Yanks took the field for the last time this season on Wednesday night. It was a spirited six inning affair with all of the Yankees contributing. George Saketos, Nicholas DiMaria and James Treadwell all had hits. The Veteran leadership was also strong with Jake Secker, Luke Hoffman and Ryan Savell shining at the plate as well as in the field. Cameron Pon played his usual all out style and Kevin Cook made a great play at first base. We also saw vintage Eric Gonzalez! Matthew Notine and Allen Chen got a well deserved night off! Francesco Maropakis was in Greece. (International competition) Great Season Yankees!! Good Luck to the players moving on to the Upper Farms!

Cellini Lodge "Rockies" (2) Vs. Dr. Barbaro "White Sox" (5)
The Rockies and White Sox squared off in another classic little league game full of great pitching, defensive gems & timely hitting. The pitching of Justin Marder, Liam Slattery & Brandon Silva kept the White Sox bats mostly quiet but the White Sox pitchers did most of the shushing. Down 2-0 going into the 4th the Rockies broke thru on a base hit by Liam who then stole 2 bases, scoring on Brandon's (3-3) triple. After the Sox got the run back in the bottom of the inning, the Rockies scored again as Matthew Satoris' hit a booming double with consecutive walks to Thomas Fitzgerald, Cole Romano & Justin, brought the run home. The Rockies were poised for a big inning but Shin Oka's hit down the 3rd base line was turned into a force play ending the threat. The defense of Dan Doreste, Richie Glasser & Daniel Cohen kept this game tight till the end. Tough loss for the Rockies but we live to play again.

Dr. Anthony Citriniti "Cylcones" (10)
Vs. Broadway Plaza Hotel "Bears" (11)
In all that a play-off game should be, the Bears & Cyclones fought into extra innings. The Cyclone season is over, but I hope the players have some great moments to carry with them. I will always be very proud of this group of 12: Nick Tornatore, Hansel Pacheco, Evan Rabinowitz, Matt Peterson, David Leibell, Frank Kurre, Spencer Edelstein, Bryan Dieber, Joe Citriniti, Aaron Brenner, Joe Carbone & Andrew Pugliese. Wilson Elser "River Sharks" (3) Vs. Schwalbach
Building Supplies, Inc. "Pride" (4)
The River Sharks were eliminated by a ferocious Pride team, which had the better of them all season. The pride jumped out to a 3-0 lead on timely hitting and demoralizing Sharks errors, which haunted the fish all season long. David Resnick put out the fire and held the Pride to only one more run, while the Sharks cobbled together 3 runs in a valiant attempt at a comeback. It was not meant to be, however, and the big cats deserve all the credit for flushing the fish. Great season to all the Sharks and let's get back on top next year!

Knights of Columbus #2852 "Road Warriors" Vs. Schwalbach Building Supplies, Inc. "Pride" THE
Champions of the 2006 Majors Division The Road Warriors
It was Championship Saturday at Merillon & it was a packed stadium. The Pride came out with a blazing start scoring 2 runs in the 2nd. Then came the Road Warriors to score 5 runs. To start the inning it was Nick S. with a line shot double up the left side. Then came Michael with a triple & 2 RBI's , to finish off the inning we had Stephen with a double & 2 RBI's. The Pride answered in the 4th with a run. Then the Road Warriors finished it off in the 5th with Nolan & Jake getting on from errors & once again Stephen ripping in 3 RBI's from a triple the kid did it all even pitching 4 solid innings. I guess you know who the MVP was "STEPHEN". Our defense was solid with Gabe & Doug in the outfield, our infielders were Brian, Ben & Daniel who threw out a Pride base runner trying to steal 3rd base. It was a great game my hats off to George & Mike for their coaching & professionalism. Joe & I had a great season with the kids & hope to see them again next year.
