  • News: School Board Holds Emergency Meeting to Discuss Failed Budget

    At a packed school board meeting, held last Monday night, almost all the residents, far too many to mention by name, who spoke at the microphone, expressed a desire to put the failed budget, just as it is, back up for a vote. They begged the board to re-submit the budget for a final vote on June 20, which is the date mandated by the state, at its original rate of 8.5 percent, with a tax levy of 8.7 percent. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Merillon Little League Scores

    The Athletics continued their road trip against the Yankees. Matthew Ferrante, continued with his solid leadership as the starting catcher. In spite of Dante Gargiulo's return from the 15 day disabled list & his outstanding hitting the A's were over powered. Nicholas Polichronakis received the game ball for playing every position. Thomas Messina, again had a great game on offense & defense. Aman Sawhney & Simar Sawhney (Mr.S) continued hitting the ball very well. Mr. S. had 1 RBI, Jonathan Alicea (J.J.) set the table with 3 hits. Daniel Chang contributed with 2 hits & his brother Philip Chang was amazing in the field & at the plate. Jonathan Brancato had 2 hits & scored a run. Brian Schoenberg had 1 hit & 3 RBI'S. His brother (Lefty) Paul Schoenberg had 3 hits & 1 RBI. The Athletics will now prepare for the Cubs. The Yankees took on the Athletics for the second time this season. The Yankees continued their hot hitting with Ryan Savell, Luke Hoffman and Jake Secker leading the way with 3 hits each. Also adding to the offense was James Treadwell, Nicholas DiMaria, Cameron Pon, Matthew Notine, George Saketos and Francesco Maropakis. The Yankees secured a victory with the spectacular defense of the whole team. Great game Yankees! Look forward to see Kevin Cook And Allen Chen back for the next game. FULL STORY
