Hillside Beverage "Yankees" Vs. State Bank of Long Island "Mets"
The Yankees & Mets squared off in the first of 2 games this season. Game 1 of the Subway Series lived up to it's billing! The Yankees continued their great hitting with Ryan Savell, Nicholas Dimaria, Luke Hoffman & Matthew Notine all extending their hitting streaks! Kevin Cook, James Treadwell, Francesco Maropakis & Cameron Pon all had hits as well. Eric Gonzalez played well in the field and had 3 hits. He also took one in the Head for the Team! Jake Secker made a spectacular play in left field! Great Job Guys! Allen Chen, George Saketos & the Gogo's Brothers are expected back on Sunday!

Park Elks Club "Diamondbacks"
The Angels & Diamondbacks faced off on a great evening for baseball. Thomas Fong, Benjamin Portnoy, Matthew Theodoropoulos & Brendan Sullivan led the Angels with some timely hitting setting the table for Zachary Schreiber (3 RBI's), David Lapidus (2B, 2 RBI's), Jarett Greben (HR) & John Young (2 RBI's) who drove them home. David & Jarett both supplied some real power with impressive shots leading to David's double & Jarett's home run. Zachary, Colton Schnall & Kyle Facibene led the Angels strong showing with some great pitching. Zachary's all around performance including his great defense behind the plate earned him the game ball. Great game boys!

City Line Florist "Padres" Vs. Celtic Corner Pub & Grub "Cubs"
The Cubs and Padres battled Friday night at Merillon Field. The Padres' defense was led by Vincent Rossello's clutch double play. Vin and Gregory Donovan both had 6 putouts. The attack on offense came from James Castaldi, Philip Silverstein and Matthew Vowinkel who had 4 hits a piece. Also, multi hit games came from Anthony Lanziotta, Jack Belmonte, Nick Kurdziel and Jacob Leeds. It was a hard fought game by both teams.

The Fundamental Baseball Camp "Nationals"
The Nationals had great week of baseball with great hitting and excellent base running along with stellar defense. They turned 3 double-plays (Tommy Murphy, Matthew Lorandini, Steven Polito, Anthony Verde) and 1 unassisted triple play by Joe Dunn. Each player on the team recorded at least 1 putout (Matthew Bateman, Andrew Filocoma, Michael Lynch, Mark Niewierowski, Dominick Patrizi and Brendan Quinn) The Nationals retired the side and avoided the run rule in 12 out 18 innings with contributions from everyone. Great effort Nationals keep up the good work.
State Bank of Long Island "Mets" Vs. City Line Florist "Padres"
On a beautiful Sunday afternoon the Mets hosted the well coached Padres team. The Mets mighty 4 for 4 sluggers were Nick Favale, Chris Cavalo, Chris Valentine, Louis Plomitallo, Max Kesner and Nick Reda. Steven Casio and Anthony Carbone both went 3 for 3. The king of swat- Anthony Depompeis went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and the bambino himself Kevin Driscoll went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. On the field, the Mets first baseman Anthony "I GOT IT" Carbone made an unassisted double play. Keep up the good work Mets.
City Line Florist "Padres" Vs. State Bank of Long Island "Mets"
The Mets and the Padres slammed the horse hide around Manor Oaks on Sunday. The bats were booming for the Padres as evidenced by the 6 hit performances by Philip Silverstein, Eric Jaklitsch, Vincent Rossello and Jack Belmont. Big RBI games came from Anthony Lanzilotta, Jacob Leeds, James Castaldi, and Nick Kurdziel. Ryan McDermott and Gregory Donovan chipped in with clutch hits late in the game. It was a beautiful day for baseball.

Hillside Beverage "Giants" Vs. Gigi Italian Restaurant "Cardinals"
The boys had their hitting shoes on tonight. The hitting barrage was led by Brandon Ianiro, JoJo Del Giorno and Peter Keenan, all three combined for twelve hits. The Giants never let their guard down, they played a hard fought game, Ethan Schonhaut had a great game with the bat and in the field. Great defense and hustle from Johsua Rotstein and Ryan Tucker. Great Game Boys!

Hillside Beverage "Giants" Vs. Cellini Lodge "Rockies"
The Giants met a tough Rockies team tonight. The Giants were led by Ethan Schonhaut, Daniel Hodes and Brandon Ianiro. The boys had a ruff time at the plate tonight, but great efforts by Giovanni Castelli, JoJo Del Giorno, Peter Keenan, Spencer Diamond and Johsua Rotstien. Our defense was solid thanks to Kyle Perno, Ryan Tucker and John Compton. Keep Up the good work boys!
Cellini Lodge "Rockies" Vs. Hillside Beverage "Giants"
There was no rust on the Rockies after the long layoff as they came ready to play on Tuesday night. The team was led (again) by the strong pitching of Justin Marder (6k's) and Brandon Silva (5k's) as they shut down the dangerous Giants. Great patience at the plate was shown by Cole Romano, Matthew Esposito and Richie Glasser as they all came around to score 2 runs apiece. Shin Oka, Daniel Cohen, Akaash Ranu and Thomas Fitzgerald all had big hits to keep rallies alive. The big bombs were supplied by Liam Slattery's Grand Slam and Matthew Satoris' bases clearing triple. Go Rockies.

Baxter's Sport Shop "Phillies" Vs. Nuzzi Fuel "Indians"
On a very cold night in April, the dugouts were full of hot chocolate. The Phillies started the game strong being led by the hot bats of Vinny Patrey, who hit a bases clearing triple, Nicholas Winkhart & Justin Roth. Also contributing to the offense were Jon Kestenbaum, Max Pau, Jack Sherman & Mark Maltasch. The Phillies also displayed some fancy glove work when James Cotumaccio stabbed a groundball and delivered a perfect strike for an out. Andrew Cursio & Zeeshan Anwar both played very well all around the infield. Andrew Griech & Joseph Pagan kept the Indian base runners in check with some great glove work behind the plate. Let's Go Phillies.

Cellini Lodge "Rockies" Vs. Gigi Italian Restaurant "Cardinals"
The Rockies wore their "Sunday Best" hitting shoes as they banged out 18 hits holding off a determined Cardinals team. The hitting stars were led by Brandon Silva who came up a double short of the cycle. Daniel Cohen & Daniel Doreste combined went 7 for 7, scoring 5 runs. Akaash Ranu with his deceptive speed, stole 4 bases. Shin Oka, Thomas Fitzgerald & Matthew Esposito ran the bases well scoring 5 runs between them. Liam Slattery had a couple of hits and came around to score 3 runs. Richie Glasser showed his versatility while taking on some catching duties. Justin Marder's pitching and hitting has been consistently excellent all year and Matthew Sartoris continues to crush the ball. Great Game Rockies!
Dr. Barbaro "White Sox" Vs. Baxter's Sport Shop "Phillies"
The Sox got off to a good start as Alex & Ethan both lead the inning with strong singles, Giuseppe had a sacrifice RBI & Brennan's solid triple gave the Sox's an early lead. Then, Evan followed with an awesome double to centerfield. The Sox's hitting was consistent throughout the game as Alex, Ethan, Ross, Brennan & Giuseppe all singled & Evan once again hit a smashing double to left field. The pitching was lead by Brennan with 5 strikeouts, followed by Giuseppe with another 5 strikeouts & ended with Evan with 2 strikeouts & no runs allowed. Great defense played by Mohammed & our call up player Christian Carrick. Also a special thanks to the Phillies for a good game & Coach Tom, Dylan Clark & Peter LoDuca for their help.

Vs. Kiwanis Club "Royals" (4)
Wow! What a game! Vinny LaBruna pitched the first 3 innings for the Pirates allowing 2 runs with 7 K's. Nicholas Perrone pitched the final 2 innings allowing 2 runs with 4 K's. Brett Alper got the Pirates on the board single handedly by walking in the 3rd inning then stealing 2nd, 3rd & home. Strong fielding by Domenico Fazzolari, Michael Glaser, Jeremy Bernstein, Craig Schmid, Andrew Korpacz & Austin Vogelsberg. It was decided that the 5th inning would be the last because we were losing light. Vinny LaBruna & Domenick Fazzolari led off with a walk then with 2 outs Matthew Gagnon also walked loading the bases. Brett Kleinberg stepped to the plate with 2 strikes on him he connected and sent a line drive to right center, it got passed the outfielder clearing the bases giving the Pirates the lead. The Royals batted in the bottom of the 5th without scoring and the game ended with the score Pirates 5 Royals 4. Congratulations to both teams for a game well played!
Kiwanis Club "Royals" (4) Vs. State Bank of
Long Island "Pirates" (5)
The Royals played a great game. The team hung tough taking it to an undefeated Pirates team for most of the game. Belvin Kuriakose had his 2nd home run of the season that got the Royals going. Fantastic pitching by Jordan Grossman held the Pirates to just 2 hits in 5 innings. Chris Rocco and Matt Dluginski had another outstanding performance behind the plate holding the aggressive Pirate runners at bay. Other key shots were made by Bradley Ferber, Mitchell Schwartz, Anthony Musacchia & Ben Hoffman. Some key defensive plays were made by Steven Telsey, Michael Barry, Philip Gonzalez & Ryan Marder. Great game guys even though we came up short on the score board, the Coaches are proud of the way you all showed heart and played to the end.

Tri Auto Motors "Astros" (7) Vs. ABC Rental "Devil Rays" (7)
Brandon Abram's second RBI, a clutch 2-out single in the bottom of the 6th, lifted the Astros to a 7-7 tie with an extra strong Devil Rays team. Trailing 1-0 Anthony Cacchioli was hit by a pitch, Sam Weinbaum walked, and double-stole 2nd & 3rd. Matthew Kipnis ripped a single to score Anthony. He promptly stole 2nd & Chris Ferlazzo cleared the bases with a base hit. In the 3rd trailing 4-3, Ross Hoffman singled, stole 2nd & 3rd, and on a passed ball, stole home. As if that wasn't enough, Steven Cacchioli did the same thing in the 5th. He singled, Steven Popovich moved him over with a walk & Danny Coster walked to load the bases. On an errant pitch, Steven streaked down the line for the Astros 2nd steal of home. Pitchers Chris, Ross & Steven P. were their usual lights-out, striking out a combined 12 Rays. Spencer Beck & Luis Lopez took some real nice swings today! Great game Astros!
ABC Rental "Devil Rays" (7) Vs. Tri Auto Motors "Astros" (7)
This one came down to the wire and ended up a tie. Both teams played very well. Devil Rays pitchers Christopher Rivera & Travis Finkel pitched 3 excellent innings each keeping the Rays in the game. Mark Thomas led off with a RBI & scored a run when he stole home. Christopher Rivera went 1-2 & scored a run. Ryan Gaitan was 1-3 with 2 RBIs & scored a run. Travis Finkel had 3 tough fought at bats. Liam Quinn was 1-3 with a monster shot of a triple contributing 2 RBIs. Andy Ferrante had 3 good at bats. Anthony Stacom 1-3 with a nice base hit & scored a run. Peter Ferrante walked twice & scored a run. Tim McCormack walked & scored a run. Matthew Pau exploded tonight with 2 big clutch hits going 2 for 2 & 2 RBI's. Matt got game ball tonight and deserved it! Brennan Scanlon made the play of the night with a spectacular catch in left center to end the game preserving the tie for the Rays. Evan Clark was 1-2 including a monster shot deep into center for a big double & scored a run.
Fastrac Kids "Mariners" (7) Vs. Sperry Associates "Orioles" (5)
The Mariners played another solid team effort tonight against the Sperry Associates Orioles. The Mariners were lead on the mound by the combination of Adrian Kwan, Cooper Spector-Salwen and Troy Driscoll, holding the Orioles to only 5 hits and 5 runs while striking out 6. Kevin Terrero and Patrick Theodoropoulos did another great job handling the pichers behind the plate. Timely offense was provided by Danny Luchino, Francesco Terrero and Kurt Skudrna. Timely fielding plays were again provided by Richard Husch, Jonathan Shapero and Jonathan O'Brien. All the boys have been real positive and all are doing a great job. Coach Mike and Coach George are very pleased with the way they have come together.

Virgilio Chiropractic "Reds" (8) Vs. Kiwanis Club "Royals" (3)
Super game today by the Reds against a well coached Royals squad. The key to today's win was defense and pitching. Matt Ryan threw for three innings allowing only two runs. Tyler Carrick finished the job pitching three innings and giving up only one run. Two awesome throws by Joey Richards caught two potential base stealers. Nice tag by Matt Zieger at third who took one for the team. Paul Goebel was really focused today backing up plays and running swiftly on the bases. Timely hitting by Max Ginsburg, Chris Cataldo and Brendan McNulty led to runs for the Reds. Nice play in the field by Jake Levy and John Anthony DiMaria. Let's go Reds!
Dennett Law Offices "Blue Jays" Vs. F & F Roofing "Expos"
What a great game for the Blue Jays today against a strong Expos team. Paul Reo had a strong pitching outing showing some heat for 2 innings. Austin Ward pitched a solid inning and showed his blazing speed on the bases. John Leva laid down a beautiful bunt in the first inning. Matt Perno's bat was on fire this game hitting the cycle and closing the last 2 innings for the Blue Jays. Trevor Kriegel bat did some talking this game going 3 for 4 with a walk. Mark Roantree went 4 for 5 and played solid defense. Harrison Pravder pitched a solid inning while having several hits. Thomas Jaklitsch was handling the hot corner while smoking the ball all afternoon. Joseph Dimonte played some hard nose defense to help secure the win. Great game Blue Jays!

Tri Auto Motors "Astros" (9) Vs. Sperry Associates "Orioles" (7)
Great game by all the Astros in a thrilling 9-7 come-from-behind victory over an elite Oriole squad. Down 2-0 in the 2nd, the Astros went to work. Steven Popovich singled, Anthony Cacchioli walked, and they both stole 2nd & 3rd. On a passed ball Steven scorched down the line and stole home! Matthew Kipnis, the 'Stros hottest hitter, lined a single to tie the game, then Danny Coster singled. The Astros took the lead in the 3rd on a single by Chris Ferlazzo, who then stole 2 bases, scoring on Steven Popovich's laser up the middle. Down 7-3 in the 5th, the Astros began their comeback. Brandon Silva hit a solo homer. Chris F. got beaned, Ross Hoffman & Steven P. walked loading the bases. Steven Cacchioli ripped a single to score Chris. Ross caught the Orioles napping stealing home. Anthony C drove in a run & Spencer Beck smacked a double up the middle to give the Astros an 8-7 lead. In the 6th, Brandon Abrams lined a single to drive in the Astros' insurance run. Starters Chris & Ross combined for 8 K's. Closer Steven "Lights Out" Popovich came in the last 2 innings, 6 up 6 down, with 4 K's saving the win. Great game Astros!

Vs. Dr. Anthony Citriniti "Cylcones"
The Cyclones got off to a fast start with a 2 nothing lead into the 2nd inning. Top of the 3rd they tack on another 4 runs as Doug lead off the inning with a single then out of nowhere Michael shows up and delivers a 2 run homer. The inning continued with Jake walking, Daniel walking and Stephen delivering a double to bring us within 1 run. Top of the 5th inning we made some defensive moves including Jake, Brian, Daniel, Nick, Troy, Nolan & Ben to hold the Cyclones. Top of the 4th the Road Warriors came back with a clutch walk from Joe hard base running from Doug and another game winning RBI from Michael. Nice pitching from Jake, Ben & Stephen don't give up and always have faith guys.

Vs. Knights of Columbus #2852 "Road Warriors" (7)
It was a tight game throughout, and it ended in the dark, as the Cyclones fell short to the Road Warriors 7-6. Joe Carbone started the pitching duties doing a fine job, followed by Bryan Dieber, who made his first pitching appearance, and performed admirably. Andrew Pugliese collected 2 hits. Aaron Brenner did his normally great catching behind the plate. Joe Citriniti had 2 RBI. David Leibell also had RBI. The rest of the Cyclones Matt Peterson, Hansel Pacheco, Evan Rabinowitz, Frank Kurre & Spencer Edelstein gave their all! Congrats to a fine Road Warrior team. I would also like to commend the grounds keeper, who had the field in pristine condition after a ton of rain!

Vs. Dr. Anthony Citriniti "Cylcones" (7)
The River Sharks battled the Cyclones in a close game, falling 7-5. Steven Curran pitched 3 solid innings, holding the Cyclones to 2 runs. Steve Curran, Harrison Marder, Josh Garfinkel & Jared Root had key hits in the 1st & 2nd, staking the Sharks to an early 4-2 lead. Catcher Brendan Lum threw out an attempted steal at 2nd, snuffing out a potential big Cyclones inning in the opening frame. Alas, the Sharks then let up a total of 5 more runs in the 4th & 5th on a combination of mental/execution lapses & walks to fall behind 7-4. The Sharks rallied in their last licks with a pair of clutch doubles from Gabe Cohen & Danny Lorandini, plating their 5th and final run, but fell short of the mark eventually for a disappointing loss.

Wilson Elser "River Sharks" (5)
The Cyclones came back from a 4-0 deficit, to top a tough River Shark team 7-5. Andrew Pugliese & Joe Citriniti did the Cyclone pitching, and both were very sharp. The big hit of the game came off the bat of Aaron (Double A) Brenner. Aaron smashed a hit with the bases full to bring the Cyclones back in the game. Joe Carbone smacked 2 hits (including a triple), and he along with Hansel Pacheco, Matt Peterson & Bryan Dieber kept the infield tight as a drum. Evan Rabinowitz made contact with a ground ball to drive in the winning run, way to go Ev! Nick Tornatore (with his new contacts) played center field, and along with David Leibell in left made perfect cut-off plays throughout the game. Spencer Edelstein played rightfield, and 'Spence' also patrolled his spot with hustle and spunk! Way to go Cyclones!

Vs. Schwalbach Building Supplies, Inc. "Pride" (2)
Today it was a rematch between the Road Warriors & Pride with the Road Warriors coming out on top. The pitching trio of Stephen, Ben and Troy only giving up 2 runs the entire game. The other defensive plays came from Jake and Nick in the outfield and Brian playing great infield. My offensive players were Doug with an RBI, Michael who had an RBI, Nolan who had an RBI and Nicholas who went 2 for 2 with 3 RBI's way to go Nick . We won't forget Daniel who is doing a great job behind the plate. Let's continue the streak Road Warriors!

Vs. Knights of Columbus #2852 "Road Warriors" (6)
Despite good pitching by Goldstein, Graber & Simione the Pride came up short against the strong hitting Road Warriors. Joshua Schulman started the pride's 3rd with a walk, followed by Jonathan Davis's single. Both runners advanced on Dylan Lopez ground out. Schulman came home on a passed ball, and Davis scored on Joshua Graber's 2 out single. Dylan Lopez filled in behind the plate for injured Eric Dittmeier, (He's fine). Thanks to Chris Rocco for playing up at the last minute. Next up the Pride go Bear hunting. Go Pride!
Broadway Plaza Hotel "Bears" Vs. Dr. Anthony Citriniti "Cylcones"
The Bears took their third victory beating the Cyclones 12-5. Playing with only eight men they managed to remain undefeated. Dylan Brolly pitched an outstanding 5 innings as well as making awesome plays on and off the mound. Christian Dluginski came in strong to close the game. Everyone was a hitter although defense was a definite strong point of the game. Great outfield play by Dai Oka & John Grzymalski who had ALOT of field to cover. Infield was kept tight by Peter LoDuca, Nick Clifford & Matt Hirshon, while nothing got by Jonathon Livers behind the dish. Both teams played hard, but the Bears prevailed. Great job boys, keep up the hard work!

Wilson Elser "Heat" Vs. Knights of Columbus #2852 "Dragons"
It was a beautiful day for softball and a chance to play on one of the Merillon fields, but one for the win column wasn't meant to be. The hitting was there for the Heat, but the Racers tough defense was too hot for the Heat. Better luck next time, girls!

Wilson Elser "Heat" Vs. Mineola
With the 1st frame scoreless Mineola struck first scoring 2 runs in the 2nd, the Heat exploded with 5 runs in the 3rd & 5 more in the 4th. Nicole Rossello, Victoria Pilosi & Krysta Sollecito all went 3 for 3. Sophie Robinson, Keeley McGrath & Abby Sollecito went 2 for 3. Emilee Abel hit a hard liner up the middle scoring 1 of the 11 runs for the Heat. Monica Mattei looked strong at the plate with 3 solid at bats. Defense for the Heat was equally impressive. Laura Roantree had 3 unassisted put-outs at 1st. Ally Barilli beat 2 runners to the plate & caught a line drive to end a bases loaded 4th for Mineola. Theresa Mattei did a great job for 3 innings behind the plate. Terrific game girls, and remember...run through first!

Dr LoRusso-Pesiri "Roadsters" Vs. Mineola "Team #1"
Merillon Roadsters defeated Mineola Team #1 by a score of 5 to 1. Allison Hand and Maxine Livson combined for an awesome 6 inning outing. Alexa Epstein made 8 putouts at first base and Maggie McHale earned a great assist in the out field. The Roadsters amazingly played 6 innings of errorless ball with walking only one batter.

T.F. O'Brien "Thunder" Vs. Dr LoRusso-Pesiri "Roadsters"
The girls came up against a tough team. Erin Rivera and Gabby Tomasini pitched very well. We had a few defensive gems by Jillian Graziano, Alanna Fichtel, Gianna Delgiamo, Kelly Kerrane and Brianna Simeoli. Haley Spielberg anchored our pitching staff from behind the dish. Clutch hitting by Kathryn Regan, Alexandra Pappacena, Kayla Buff, Nicole Bateman and Emily Demeo.
Dr LoRusso-Pesiri "Roadsters" Vs. T.F. O'Brien "Thunder"
The Roadsters defeated a tough Thunder team led by clutch hitting by Katie Pesiri. Also Hannah Zeitlin drove in 2 runs with 2 hits. Once again the dynamic duo of Maxine Livson and Allison Hand supplied the great pitching.
