Balboni, Bierwirth Announce Record Tax Aid Returned to Herricks
Increase in State Funding to Be Dedicated to Lower Tax Levies --
New York State Senator Michael Balboni and Herricks School Superintendent Dr. Jack Bierwirth, at a press conference held last week at the Herricks Middle School, announced that the Herricks district will return a record increase in state aid approved by the legislature to district property taxpayers in the form of lower tax levies this fall.

New Hyde Park Village Holds Public Hearings Prior to Meeting
Hearings for Convenience Store and Day Care Center --
Prior to its regular board meeting the New Hyde Park Village held two public hearings for special use permits. Deputy Mayor Robert Lofaro opened the hearing after a brief wait for the board to acquire a quorum since two members were held up in traffic.

Merillon Little League Baseball Scores
The Braves played a strong, well-rounded game. Hitting stars included Gregory Haynes, Jacob Portnoy, Peter Resitvo, Brian Volk & Jack Tucker. Excellent defense was displayed by Harry Schildkraut, Dylan Silverstein & Timothy Fogarty. Special kudos to the combination of Jacob Seidenberg & Jordan Greif who teamed up on back-to-back 1-3 putouts, Pranshu Babber for a nice play on a pop-up to the mound, and to Corey Rutkin for a diving grab in the outfield. All players displayed tremendous teamwork, sportsmanship and enthusiasm, and fun was had by all.

New Hyde Park Wildcats Roundup
The NHP Wildcats are pleased to offer a developmental training program geared for any player wishing to get professional training to enhance their play. It will be open to both boys and girls who will be in the U6/7, U-8 and U-9 age groups this upcoming Spring 2006 season. The training sessions will be on the same day as their games.
