Anthony D'Urso to Be Honored at Cellini Lodge Annual Dinner
In 1971 he accepted a civil service position with the Department of Housing Development Administration, City of New York. Through hard work and perseverance he rose through the ranks. He was promoted from senior building construction estimator to general supervisor of building construction, to director of operations for the division of design and construction. In 1995 he was promoted to the position of assistant commissioner of the Office of Architecture Engineering and Construction. In this position he was in charge of a technical staff of 300 employees and an annual capital budget of $500 million. D'Urso, after a 30-year career as a housing official, recently retired.
