Every Christmas season the Happicaps, a great group of challenged adults, come together to perform a magnificent Christmas show. This year the theme was song and dance and there was a lot of that on the stage this year.

Iceland Hosts Cast Members From the Eglevsky's Nutcracker
Two New Hyde Park institutions - Iceland Skating Rink, a Nassau County sports and recreation landmark, located on the corner of Hillside Avenue and Herricks Road, and the Eglevsky's Nutcracker, Long Island's only professional, nonprofit ballet company, located in the Herricks Community Center, 99 Herricks Road, joined together recently to kick off the holiday season and do some fundraising at their first annual "Skate for the Arts Day."

New Hyde Park Cyclones Win Championship Again
The New Hyde Park Cyclones 12U team won another fall baseball championship. This fall the they played in the NJBL (National Junior Baseball League) where they finished with a 12-2 record. The National Junior League consists of teams from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens Counties. The Cylcones won their last nine games in a row beating the St. James Bulls two straight to win the crown, 10-1 and 10-3.
