Parents please check with your coaches about make-up games. Games are rescheduled by Division Directors who will advise your coach.

TOPSoccer

As we started to gather up the animals (and players), 2 by 2, we decided it was best to postpone the NHP TOPSoccer Tournament until, Oct. 22, same time (9 a.m. start) and same place (Denton Avenue). The P/OB tournament is cancelled. Hope everyone can still make it, as this is one of the highlights of the year. Parents, don't forget - the season finale of the players vs. the parents is only a few short weeks away, so start getting in those practices. See me for available dates and venues. We're hoping for a more respectable showing this season.

Boys U10 Travel

Stray Cats vs. Garden City - Terrific game by all the Stray Cat players in a convincing 6-0 victory over a scrappy Garden City team. The Cats dominated the first half of the game by scoring four unanswered goals. The Cats first goal was scored by Billy Stevens, blasting on past the keeper on the right side. The Cats made it 2-0 when Cian Fitzgerald tipped on in the net off a pretty corner kick by Tyler Carrick. Bryan O'Neill made it 3-zip when he sent a rocket in off a nice pass from Cian. The Cats then ended the first half scoring when Ciaran Stack put on in off a misplay by a Garden City player. The second half was all Stray Cat domination as Ciaran made it 5-0 when he scored on a pretty unassisted play. After a nice assist from Andrew Blumenson, Ciaran scored his third goal of the game to make the final score 6-0. Midfielders Ryan Korzevinsky and Stephen Eranovic pushed the ball up nicely. Defensemen Chris Ferlazzo, Chris Sacino, and Tyler Carrick were amazing in dominating the back. Goalie Steven Cacchioli was flawless, making fives saves and earning the shutout. Great game, Stray Cats!

Columbus Day - Syosset Tournament - Boys U8

It was hard to believe that the Syosset tournament was still going to be held with such poor weather conditions but as soon as the boys found out that they were still going to be playing they all laced up and came ready to play some serious soccer. Despite the rain the boys gave everyone that came out to support them a fantastic show of their soccer ability. There were great plays all over the field and at all positions. Kevin Driscoll was the team's anchor in goal. He made some great saves while having to play in wet and muddy goal box. The defense was fast to attack the opposing team as they tried to make their way to our goal. The defense was manned by John Compton, Joey Leva, Antonio Prunella and Peter Tagios. Unfortunately, in the course of play, Peter was injured and he was unable to compete in the last game of the day, Peter we hope you are feeling better. The offense game out shooting (with goals scored by each player on the offensive line) and aggressively moving the ball forward with great passing and long break away runs to their opponent's goal. The offensive line was manned up by Nicholas Aquino, Joseph DelGiorno, Teddy Iovino and Kyle Perno. Great job boys and thanks to all the family and friends that came out in the rain to support the team!
