Devil Rays (4)

In a nail biter the Devil Rays edged the Mariners 4-1. With a sudden flu bug hitting Andrew Pugliese, Joe Carbone took the mound coming up big! Joe pitched 6 innings of 2 hit ball! The Ray offense was led by Harrison Marder. with 2 hits & 2 RBI! Harry also made a great throw to the plate, where catcher Mark Jason put the tag on a Mariner base runner trying to score. 2nd baseman Hansel Pachero played injured, sparkling in the field. The rest of the Rays who played a gritty and determined game were Gabriel Diamond (Gabe arrived from his debut on Broadway!) Salman Poonawala, Andrew Nikolai, Trevor Kriegel, Thomas Jaklitsch (Tom, doubled & stole home!) & Conor Breen (chipped in with a single) This manager along with coach Joe, are extremely proud of this Ray team. Devil Rays (4)

What a super Spring Season this was for the Mariners and their fans. After starting off 0 - 5 to wind up winning 6 games was a tremendous achievement. This was a solid team and both Coach George and I are proud of all we accomplished. The Mariners were, "Bash Brothers" Fran & Kevin Terrero, "Chest Thumping" Alex Smith, "Twinkle Toes" Erik Schmid, "Smiling" Byran Dieber and Danny Luchino, Jon O'Brien, Philip Gonzalez, Sean Byrne, Pat Theodoropoulos, Doug Leff and last but not least "Where's Luis" Luis Lopez. Thanks to Luis Lopez Sr. for sponsoring our team. Go Mariners! Best of Luck to a well coached and talented Devil Rays in the Championship Game!

Dr. Anthony Citriniti Surf (4) Vs.

Virgilio Chiropractic Expos (8)

The Surf fell short of going to the Championship Game on Saturday by a score of 4 to 8 to the Expos. The team took a 4-0 lead but were held scoreless the remainder of the game and could not stop the Expos bats. The team achieved more than I believed they could finishing 3rd and coming within 1 game of the Championship Game. I am proud of all the kids and wish them the best in future games. Surf players who gave 100 percent each game were Michael Aronov, Troy Barocas, Troy Driscoll, Domenick Fazzolari, Domenico Fazzolari, Ace Goldstein, Anthony Grimaldi, John Grzmalski, Alexander Katz, Adrian Kwan, Jonathon Livers & Paul Reo. Congrats Expos! Thanks to our sponsor Dr. Anthony Citriniti, Doc, we tried to bring home the trophy, maybe next year.

The Stutzmann Funeral Home

Road Warriors (6)

Vs. Hillside Beverage Cyclones (3)

The Warriors battled the division winning, well coached & talented Cyclones, holding on for the win. Once again Rob Scatorchio carried the team going 2 for 3 with a homerun & 4 RBI's and pitching a gem through the first 3 innings with 5 K's while surrendering only 1 run. David Luchino continues to hit the ball hard going 2 for 3 with a run scored & 1 RBI and kept the Cyclones off balance pitching the last 3 innings with 4 K's. Leadoff hitter Kevin Gagnon (2 for 3) scored twice while playing super defense in the outfield. Matt Dillon was solid behind the plate and smashed a RBI double. The play of the game (of the year) went to Nicky Clifford who made an all out dive of a hot grounder ending a Cyclone rally in the 3rd. Louis Simione (1 for 3) was solid at 3rd base, as was Matt Miller (OF), Pat McGonigle (walk, run scored) (OF), Harris Rivkin (OF) and handling the duties over at 1st base was steady Dan Spratt. Next up the Sharks! Hats off to the Cyclones for a terrific season! Go Warriors!

The Stutzmann Funeral Home

Road Warriors

Vs. The Liebell Family River Sharks

Hats off to the "Champion River Sharks" who totally dominated the Warriors in this game. After defeating 2 extremely talented teams the Warriors seemed to be on a roll but the wheels fell off against the Sharks. However, on the bright side after finishing the season in 5th place what we were able to accomplish in the playoffs and being able to take the 2nd place trophy was a total team effort and nothing to be ashamed of. All of the Warriors contributed to the turn around and were; Robert Scatorchio, David Luchino, Matt Dillon, Louis Simione, Nicky Clifford, Danny Spratt, John Fitzgerald, Pat McGonigle, Kevin Gagnon, Matt Miller, Harris Rivkin and Johnny Mahon. Coaches Rich, Mike and I would like to thank the players and parents for a fantastic season and playoff run. Way to go Warriors!
