Voice Strong Opposition at First Scoping Meeting
The message was loud and clear. Residents living along the Long Island Rail Road's (LIRR) 11.5-mile Main Line Corridor do not - under any circumstance - want a third - or fourth or fifth - track installed. They do however, welcome the elimination of on-grade crossings in New Hyde Park (Covert Avenue, 12th Street and New Hyde Park Road), Westbury (School Street) and New Cassel (Urban Avenue) and believe that phase of the LIRR's highly controversial Main Line Corridor Improvements Project be tackled now.

Retiring Superintendent Rudaitis Honored at Last Board Meeting
At the last New Hyde Park/Garden City Park School Board meeting to be presided over by retiring superintendent Joseph Rudaitis the board presented him with an unusually beautiful plaque.

The Phillies have been eliminated from the tournament by the Giants. The Phillies finished in 3rd Place and played well during the season and in the play offs. The Phillies are made up of a great group of kids and parents. The Phillies are; Tyler Cohen, James Cotumaccio, Andrew Curcio, Justin Diamond, Frank DiSanto, Peter Dunn, Kenny Nygard, Andrew Schneider, Andrew Seger, Cooper Spector-Salwen, John Triptree, Kyle Triptree & Nick Winkhart. Manager Bobby Cotumaccio and Coaches Joe Winkhart & Kevin Seger, were very impressed with the Phillies progress and success. We would like to thank all the parents and families for the support and trust with their children.
