The Mets hitting stars included Rudy Rodriguez, Chris Rodriguez, Joe Mckie, David Kimmel & Christopher Vietri. The season is coming to a close and I would like to take the opportunity to say it was a pleasure coaching your children this season. Dodgers Vs. Kiwanis Club of
New Hyde Park Nationals
The Dodgers were able to have one of their best team performances of the season defeating the Nationals by a score of 17 to 11 rewarding their fans with an offensive onslaught that was by far their best this season. Justin Didonato, Joshua Rotstein & Matthew O'Connor all had doubles, while Corey Rutkin, Brendan Nolty & Francesco Labito all went 5 for 5. Kyle Donahue, Erik Jaklitsch & Andrew Filicoma were fantastic on both sides of the plate. John Paul Sanchez had 2 fly ball catches for outs while Justin Didonato made an outstanding fly ball catch while playing 3rd. The Dodger players have improved tremendously during the season and out of nowhere they appear to be one of the teams to be feared come Championship Saturday. Let's Go Mighty, Mighty Dodgers!
Applebee's Restaurant Athletics
Vs. Nuzzi Fuel Twins
It was a very hot and humid day when the 2 teams met. The Athletics started right where they left off, hit after hit. With a power offense and that "Iron Curtain" defense, they turned in a spectacular performance. Leading the way with 5 hits were Michael Valentino, Nicholas Favale, John Stampfli and Alex Matos. Defensive gems turned in by Brett Baker, Gregory Kyro, Sahil Rawal and Mathew Mastoridis. Scattering base hits all over the field was Tyler Cabrera who seemed to be on base every inning. Once again, Pranshu "Line Drive" Babber almost took my head off showing us his power hitting. Great job boys and Congratulations on a winning season.

Also in the 3rd, with Tiger runners at 1st & 3rd bases catcher Doug Leff (1 for 3 run scored, 2 SB's) pump faked a throw to 2nd base and immediately fired the ball to 3rd picking off the lead runner. Great play Doug! Patrick Theodoropoulos did his thing walking in the 6th inning then stealing 2nd, 3rd & home with his blazing speed and base running smarts. The victory would not have been possible without the solid defense turned in by Franchesco & Kevin Terrero, Alex Smith and Jonathan O'Brien. Go Mariners!

Road Warriors (3)
Vs. Dennett Law Offices Ducks (2)
What can you say? Robert Scatorchio was Super! The "Torch" was on fire in this one pitching a 6 inning masterpiece with 11 K's. The Warriors plated 2 more in the 4th as Rob led off with a walk, David smashed a grounder to short which turned into a fielders choice as he beat out the attempted double play throw to first. Louis Simione then stroked a line drive double scoring David and setting the table for Nicky Clifford who singled in Louis for what proved to be the game winning run. Stellar defense by Harris Rivkin who tracked down a well hit triple, threw to relay man Nicky who threw a strike relay throw to Matt Dillon catching the runner in a pickle. The play ended on a full speed catch and tag by pitcher Rob Scatorchio for the out. Danny Spratt was sparkling at 1st base while Kevin Gagnon, Pat McGonigle, Matt Miller and John Fitzgerald were all solid defensively. Hats off to the Ducks players and Coaching staff on a great game!

Road Warriors (3)
The Ducks finished the 2005 season with an exciting 3-2 loss to the surging Road Warriors. The Warriors grabbed a early lead in the 1st on a steal of home. The bottom of the first, Stephen DePietto singled, but could not be advanced. In the 2nd, the Ducks threatened with Nolan Roth on 3rd & Sam Rossiello on 2nd, but Lu Zaremba's scorcher down the 3rd base line was gloved, lightning fast Lu was out on a very close call. The Warriors added 2 in the 4th going up 3-0. Ducks threatened again in their half but could not bring the runners home. The Ducks broke through in the 5th as Lu Zaremba walked scoring on Mike Ibrahim's blast to right center. In a bad break, Ibrahim lost his footing coming around 3rd, and was out in a run down. In the 6th, Duck starter Frank Pate turned the ball over to Jonathan Dennett. Pate was stupendous in 5 innings, giving up only 3 hits with 11 K's. Dennett finished up the job, retiring 3 in order with 2 K's. In the 6th, Dennett singled, stole 2nd & advanced to 3rd by Pate scoring on a passed ball.
