Nuzzi Fuel Twins Vs. Celtic Corner

Pub and Grub Yankees

On a steamy Sunday afternoon the Twins took on a very tough Yankee team. The game featured great defense and strong hitting on both sides. For the Twins Russ Rahman, Joshua Lee, Evan Mattioli, Connor McDermott and Joshua Lee provided the power each with three hits. Matthew Lee, Reid Alper and Dean Mattioli sparkled with the glove. In the end the Yankees offense proved too strong, handing the Twins a defeat.

of Columbus No. 2852 Dodgers

The Mets played the Dodgers in a game filled with good plays on defense. The Mets defense was lead by Jared Diamond, David Kimmel, Frankie Saladino & Jacob Siedenberg. The hitting continued to be strong lead by Chris Rodriguez, Chris Vietri, Rudy Rodriguez, Joseph Mckie, Andrew Polito, Adam Fieldstein & James Messina who ripped the cover off the ball all day. The Mets are on a roll this year, Lets Go METS!

Celtic Corner Pub and Grub Yankees

The Athletics have emerged as one of the leagues top teams, with a relentless offense & stingy defense. Nicholas Favale, Ishan Handa, John Stampfli & Alex Matos all reached base several times with hard hit singles. Michael Valentino & Pranshu Babber each had 3 RBI's. Sahil Rawal, Brett Baker, Matthew Mastoridis & Gregory Kyro flexed their muscles by hitting the long ball racking up 14 RBI's. Defensively, Gregory, Matthew, Brett & Sahil, our "Iron Curtain", turned in spectacular double plays on route to one of our most exciting victories this season.

The Yankees faced a strong opponent in the A's. Peter Restivo and Christian Carrick continued their torrid hitting with 4 hits each. Ryan O'Hare and Slater Dvoor each had three hits. Fantastic plays were turned in by Michael Varrone, Peter Tagios and John Compton. Keep up the great play.

Kiwanis Club of NHP Nationals Vs.

Vietri Associates Mets

The Nationals had bats going but they went up against a tough Met team who played solid defensively. The nationals struggled on defense side but gave a great effort. Great effort by Mike C., Tommy, Cameron, Max, Brendan, Ryan, Vincent, Anthony, Greg and Eric. Great effort Nationals.

Kiwanis Club of NHP Nationals

The Mets played the Nationals and for the Mets it was another strong game in a season filled with good plays in the field and solid hitting. The Mets stars in the field were, Joseph McKie, James Messina, Chris Rodriguez & David Kimmel. The Mets hitting stars included, Andrew Polito, Rudy Rodriguez, Jacob Seidenberg, Christopher Vietri & Adam Feldstein. The Mets star of the game was the switch hitting Frankie Saladino who got hits from both sides of the plate and made an unassisted double play at third. Our "tough guy award" goes to Joseph Mckie who was in a collision at 1st base but went right back into the game. The Mets just keep on getting better each week, Lets Go METS!

Yankees Vs. Cellini Lodge Braves

The Yankees kept up their recent excellent play against the Braves. The hit parade was lead by Michael Varrone and Andrew Colgan with 5 hits each. Christian Carrick continues to tear the cover off of the ball banging out 4 solid hits. Peter Restivo and Peter Tagios also had 4 hits apiece. Strong plays in the field came from John Compton and Big Joe Dunn. Steven Cascio had his best all around game of the season with timely hitting and fielding.

NHP Funeral Home Padres Vs.

Knights of Columbus No. 2852 Dodgers

The Padres played the Dodgers in a good game played by both teams. The Padres offense was led by Kyle Waibel's clutch RBI. Matthew Vowinkle was 5 for 5, Gregory Donovan also had 5 hits & Matthew Bateman had 4 RBIs. The defense was led by Antonio Prunella and his 4 putouts, also Justin Roth made some nice plays on the field. Other contributions came from Vincent Rossello 3 hits, Michael Husch 3 hits & Jacob Leeds 2 hits & RBI. It was a good fun game!

The Cubs and the A's played a superb game on Sunday. The cubs are stepping up and they are starting to pick up their game. Our defense was led by JoJo DelGiorno, Kyle Perno, Nicholas Zovich, Luke Hoffman, and Jonathan Brancato. Timely hits by Kevin Driscoll, Joey Leva, Eric Gonzales, Nicholas Castelli and Domenick Sciove.

Fundamental Baseball Camp Angels

Vs. T. F. O'Brien Marlins

The first 2 innings was a pitchers duel with the Angels on top by 2 runs. The Angels pulled ahead in the 3rd scoring 4 runs, and scoring 4 more in the 4th. But the Marlins slowly came back to end the game in a tie. Jarett started a rally in the 3rd with a single. Anthony singled in a run. With bases loaded in the 3rd, slugger Matt hit a grand slam home run. The 4th, saw Peter double bringing in a run & Sam tripled earning 3 RBI's. Brennan went 2 for 2. The pitchers Brennan, Evan & Sam did a fantastic job. Brett, Brandon, Steven, Thomas, Billy, & Eric played awesome defense. Great game Angels!

T. F. O'Brien Marlins Vs.

Fundamental Baseball Camp Angels

The Marlins struggled for 5 innings but were able to pull off an incredible comeback tying a solid Angels team. Jake Levy in his pitching debut was brilliant with 3 K's two innings & assisted with 3 put outs with the help of Ryan Marder. Thomas Fong & Ethan Schonhaut also showed good command in their innings pitched. Joey Richards got the call as closer to shut the Angels down in the 5th & 6th with 5 K's. Sparkling on the field were Chris Sacino, Stephen Eranovic, Joseph Tricarico, & Troy Kipperman. Daniel Zuschlag had a huge clutch hit in the 6th that sparked the Marlins' late rally. Way to Go Marlins.

Dr. Barbaro Phillies Vs. Mike's NHP

Convenience Store White Sox

Both teams played spectacular in the field. The Phillies scored quickly in the 1st with 2 singles from Cooper Spector-Salwen & Justin Diamond taking an early lead. The Phillies scored 3 more times in the 2nd with 3 solid hits by Nick Winkhart, Kyle & John Triptree. Andrew Seger contributed to the offense with 2 key walks to keep the innings alive. The defense was anchored by Frank DiSanto. Kenny Nygard, James Cotumaccio & Peter Dunn all played well. The Phillies continue to pitch well, mainly with their super closer Justin Diamond, who was given the game ball for his string of scoreless innings. Making his pitching debut was Andrew Schneider, who came in to face one batter to keep the score close.

State Bank of Long Island Indians (6)

The Cardinals took on the always tough Indians, in the Cards best game this season. The pitching was strong led by Steven Farkas (2 K's), & Harrison Dvoor (3 K's) who in his pitching debut was outstanding! In the middle innings Matt Dluginski & Adeel Bari kept us close with 3 combined K's. The Cards found themselves down 6 to 3 going into the 5th inning, that's when the bats came alive. Jayson Molina's double & Joseph Pagan's single, followed by Jarett Greben & Matt Theodoropoulos productive RBI outs. Steven Farkas' hit drove in the tying run. Thomas Kelly pitched a 1, 2, 3, inning with 3 K's. In the 6th, Prasanth Venigalla lead the way, Jarad Gany walked followed by Justin Simoncini driving in the winning run. T.K. then finished off the Indians in the bottom of the 6th, with 2 K's.

Nice game by the Indians in a hard fought 9-6 defeat to a hard hitting Cardinals squad. The Indians offense was led by Chris Ferlazzo (2 walks, 2 runs, 4 SB); Tommy LaBruna (walk, run); Ben Lee (2 singles, 2 runs, 2 RBI); Brendan McNulty (triple, 2 singles, run, RBI, SB); Steven Cacchioli (walk, RBI); Michael Sitzer (walk, sac); Chris Cataldo (walk, RBI); Anthony Cacchioli (triple, single, RBI); Giovanni Castelli (walk, single, SB); & Mateo Diaz (walk, 2 SB). Nicky Martinez & Andy Ferrante took some nice swings. Pitcher Ben Lee had 3 K's & Steven Cacchioli, Brendan McNulty & Chris Ferlazzo each notched a strikeout.

Vincent Patrey pitched 2 strong innings scoring twice. Liam Quinn walked twice scoring a run. Shaun Kaiman was 2 for 3 scoring a run. Travis Finkel had a hit, walked twice, scored a run & also pitched a great game. Matt Nillson walked twice with an RBI. Ryan Tucker was 1 for 2 with a walk contributing 2 clutch RBI's. Matthew Pau went 2 for 2 with a walk & RBI. Kurt Skudrna walked twice. Jake Grusd was 1 for 2. Matthew Esposito was 0-1 with a walk.

Dennett Law Offices Rockies

The Marlins played an excellent against a surging Rockies team. Ryan Marder pitched two innings with a perfect 6 strikeouts. Daniel Zuschlag and Joseph Tricarico also sparkling on the mound. Joey Richards pitched the 5th and 6th striking out six batters sporting excellent speed and control. Anthony D'Ammassa and Ethan Schonhaut showed great focus on the field. Troy Kipperman looked like a major leaguer in left center nailing a runner at home with an awesome throw that was on the money. Last minute call up Justin Marder was fantastic.

Vs. Dr. Barbaro Phillies

The Angels finished the regular season with another win. In the 1st Sam made an awesome catch in the outfield with his magic glove. Also the Angels scored 4 runs on hits by Evan, Jarett, Sam, Brennan, Peter, Anthony & Brandon. By the 5th inning, the Angels were down by 1 run. With Sam pitching and the help of our defense, the Angels were able to keep the Phillies from scoring. In the bottom of the 5th, Evan scored to tie the game and Peter drove in the winning run by enabling Jarett to score. The pitchers for this game, Brett, Brandon, Anthony & Sam did a great job. The game ended with the Angels winning by 1.

Baseball Camp Angels

The Phillies & Angels played a action packed game. The Phillies made 2 spectacular plays on defense, Andrew Schneider caught a liner up the middle & Cooper Spector-Salwen made a diving catch in the outfield. Making their pitching debuts were John Triptree, Kyle Triptree & Peter Dunn, who all performed terrific. This was also a game filled with many hits supplied by the hot bats of Andrew Seger, Nick Winkhart, Tyler Cohen & Frank DiSanto.

The Diamondbacks received a spectacular pitching performance from Nick Perrone who also had 3 hits & a walk. Jack Kimmel, Thomas Kemmet & Michael Kemmet eached pitched well for 1 inning apiece. Michael Casey was on base twice and stole a base. William Huh made good contact and also stole a base. Ryan Korsevinski played solid defense and was the victim of some solid Cardinal defense. Timmy McCormack also chipped in with some solid defense and some tough at bats.

Vs. City Line Florists Diamondbacks (5)

The Cardinals bats were on fire, in the first 2 innings they scored 7 runs, led by David Feldstein, Matt Dluginski, Thomas Kelly & Matt Theodoropoulos. The pitching which has been outstanding, was once again almost unhittable, with Steven Farkas setting the tone in the first with 3 K's. In relief were Harrison "Big Unit" Dvoor, Adeel Bari, David Feldstein, Prasanth Venigalla & Joseph Pagan who combined for 10 strikeouts! The defense led by Jarett Greben & Justin Simoncini swallowed up everything that was hit.

A well-played game by the Indians in a 3-1 defeat to a tough Giants team. The Indians pitchers - Chris Ferlazzo (3 K's), Ben Lee (4 K's) & Mike Sitzer (1 K) , together only gave up 1 earned run. Chris F. scored the Indians lone run on a RBI single by Ben Lee. The rest of the Indians offense was led by Tommy LaBruna (walk, SB); Mike Sitzer (walk); Brandon Martinez (walk, 2 SB); Anthony Cacchioli (single, 2 SB); Chris Cataldo (single); Steven Cacchioli (walk); Ben Lee (2 singles, walk, RBI, 2 SB); Mateo Diaz (walk); & Chris Ferlazzo (single, walk, 2 SB, run).

Mark Thomas (1 for 2, run scored); Vincent Patrey (1 for 2, RBI); Travis Finkel (1 for 1, walk, run scored); Liam Quinn (1 for 2, RBI); Matthew Nillson had 2 tough at bats. Max Nettler (1 for 3, run scored). Ryan Tucker keeps hitting the ball hard. Matthew Esposito took some quality cuts at the plate. Kurt Skudrna (1 for 2, RBI). Shaun Kaiman keeps hitting the ball well flying out twice. Matthew Pau made a really big play throwing out a runner trying to steal third! Matthew got game ball for that heads up play!

Pitching and defense dominated this game. After the 1st the Cards held a slim 2 - 1 lead which held up until the 5th inning. The Cardinals pitchers were strong, led by Adeel Bari (3 K's in 2 innings). In relief Harrison Dvoor, Jared Gany, Matt Theodoropoulos & Thomas "Lights Out" Kelly held on with the defensive help of Matt Dluginski, Jayson Molina & Justin Simoncini. The hits were scarce and the runs were hard to come by for both teams, and after the White Sox tied it at 3 in the 6th. The never say die Cards squeaked out 1 run in the bottom of the inning to seal the win 4 to 3. Great job guys. Special thanks to our replacement players, Evan C. and Chris F.

The Blue Jays took another loss to a great team. The Jays hit some great shots but were put out by the good Devil Ray defense. Our offense was led by Nick S., Brian R. who hit a triple, Jimmy H. who had our only RBI, Michael Z. had 2 stolen bases, and Dylan C. with two walks. We still keep playing good defense, today we had Steven F., Kim Bong, Mark S., Steven P. and John and Charles R. We fell short this week but we will come back and win our last games. Play tough Jays and don't give up!

ABC Rental Tigers (12) Vs.

Dr. Anthony Citriniti Surf (13)

The Tigers played an exciting game against a good offensive Surf team. In the 2nd the Tigers scored 6 runs taking a 4 run lead. The rally was started by Ryan Gaitan with a single, Anthony Stacom, Mark Thomas, Brendon Scanlon & Gabriel Diamond walked. Chris Rivera came up big with a 3 run triple. With the Tigers were trailing by 5 runs in the last inning John Fanelli lead off with a double, Vinny Labruna (double, single) walked, Mathew Zeiger double bringing in 2 runs. Anthony Stacom walked then stole 2nd. Mark Thomas hit his second single driving in 2 runs to bring the Tigers within one run. This exciting game ended at 13 to 12. The Tigers thank call-ups Mark Thomas, Brendon Scanlon & Gabriel Diamond.

The Pirates dropped their 4th in a row to the Astros 8-7. It was a thrilling contest that came down to the last out. The Buco's had Ethan Kleinberg on 2nd with Harrison Strows battling at the plate trying to tie it. Harrison fouled off tough pitch after tough pitch to stay alive. He finally grounded out to 1st after an excellent, gutsy at bat. The inning was highlighted by back to back homers by Gabe Cohen & Dan Schwartz to pull to within 1. Chris Casey went deep in the previous frame. Other Pirate highlights included stellar defense by Brett Kleinberg, Mark Roantree, Nick Driscoll, Andy Dittrich. Alex Weiner & Chris Sanchez also each had a hit. Starting pitcher Ginsberg was good but pulled because of a hurt arm.

The Astros played a strong all around game with some fine fielding and timely hitting. Josh Garfinkel & Andrew Goldstein both pitched a great game, and also lead the hit parade with 5 hits & a homerun between them. John Lee also caught another good game behind the plate. Jack Murname, Matt Hershenhorn & Dylan Lopez all continued to hit the ball hard. Web gems were turned in by Robert Thomas, Frank Kurre & Jake Phillips. Steven Miller continues to get on base & score runs.

The Blue Jays put Steven F. on the mound but he didn't have his stuff giving up 8 runs in 2 innings. In for relieve Steven P. was excellent striking out 8 batters while giving up 2 runs in 4 innings. The Jays battled back in the 3rd inning tacking on 6 runs, Bong K., Mark S., Dylan C., all with singles followed by Brian R. with a big double. Making the plays in the outfield were Jimmy H., John R., Charles R. & Stephanos N. Nick S. also had a big double.

HSBC Bank, USA Orioles (10)

Vs. Dr. Roofeh Blue Jays (7)

The stage was set for a rematch between the Blue Jays & Orioles. The Orioles won handily the first time around but this game was a lot closer 10-8 due to the fine coaching of the Blue Jays coaches Ray & Joe. The Orioles were led by the pitching & hitting of Anthony Musacchia & Jordan Grossman. Hitting stars were Matthew Gagnon, Thomas Perniciaro, Michael Xia & Ben Todaro with 2 hits each. Mitchell Schwartz continued improving at 2nd base with some nice plays in the field along with Jonah Mittler & Brad Rutkin turning in some excellent fielding plays. Once again Cory Zelniker excelled behind the plate. Lets keep on winning.

Bagels And A Whole Lot More Reds (0)

The Surf played a well coached Reds team with Troy Barocas pitching 4 great shutout innings & Alex Katz 1 shutout inning securing the victory. John Livers called another great game behind the plate. Paul Reo, Anthony Grimaldi, Adrian Kwan & Domenick Fazzolari played great defense in the infield, while Domenico Fazzolari, John Grmalski & Troy Driscoll played great in the outfield. This was a total team effort, with great base running and aggressive steals. Thanks to Nick and Gary.

Tri Auto Motors, Inc. Mariners (3)

The Expos faced the Mariners for the 2nd meeting of the season. This game was a furious fight between 2 strong teams. The Expos pitching provided by Sam Nagelberg & Mike West gave up 3 runs in the game. The Expos defense kept the door closed for the Mariners, who had some good cuts at the ball. Chris Dunne, Logan Diamond, Mike West, Matthew Peterson, Danny Caligiuri & Matthew Ryan made great defensive plays to support their pitchers fine performance. The Expos were trailing the Mariners 3-1 going into the top of the 6th inning. A 3 run rally was started off by Jason Hoffman & Michael Ring, with the winning run being driven in by a line drive base hit by Austin Vogelsburg. Go Expos!

The Mariners dropped a tough one to the Expos. Brian Dieber led the Mariners pitching 3 solid innings while going 2 for 3 with a triple and RBI. Sean Byrne once again pitched fantastic and went 1 for 1 with a walk, 2 steals & a run scored. Mariners hitting leaders were Patrick Theodoropoulos (1 for 2, walk, SB, run scored); Doug Leff (1 for 3, double, RBI). Defensive gems for the Mariners were made by Danny Luchino, Philip Gonzales, Franchesco & Kevin Terrero, Erik Schmid and Jonathan O'Brien.

ABC Rental Tigers Vs. Celtic Corner

Peter LoDuca started the game pitching 3 good innings. After 3 innings the Tigers were down by a score of 4 to 2, when both Andrew Chaung & Brent Kane aggressive base running & steals of home tied the game. Andrew Chaung tripled, Brent Kane doubled then stole 3rd & home tying the score at 4. John Fanelli walked, stealing 2nd & 3rd. With the winning run at 3rd base Ryan Gaitan hit a clutch single scoring John. Ryan then stole 2nd & 3rd then Vinny Labruna got the Tigers an insurance run with a grounder to the pitcher. Brent Kane pitched 3 super innings to hold the Astros. On defense Mathew Zeiger, Peter LoDuca, Ralph Strocchia, Chris Rivera, Anthony Stacom, Andrew Korpacz & Chris Ianiro played solid baseball.

On this day both teams stepped on the field ready to battle, and gave the spectators one fine game. Steven Miller & Andrew Goldstein both pitched a good game. John Lee is doing amazing job behind the plate filling in for Michael Glaser who will stay on the D.L. for the remainder of the season. Josh Garfinkel, Frank Kurre, Andrew Goldstein, Dylan Lopez &Robert Thomas all continue to hit the ball with authority. The Pirates dropped their 5th in a row to the Mariners 11-1. The Bucs are going bad right now and are still trying to right the ship. Coach Charlie and Lou feel their team is under achieving. The Bucs will try to turn it around in time for the playoffs. Thanks to Nick and Frank.

Hitting stars were, "Bash Brothers" Terrero - Fran (2 for 3, 2 runs scored, home run, SB, 3 RBI's) & Kevin (1 for 2, 2 runs scored, walk, 2 SB, RBI); Erik Schmid (2 for 3, run scored, 2 RBI's & SB); Bryan Dieber (2 for 3, 2 runs scored, double, SB, RBI); Pat Theodoropoulos (2 for 4, run scored, RBI); Danny Luchino (1 for 2, run scored, 2 walks); Sean Byrne (1 for 2, 2 runs scored, walk, RBI); Doug Leff (1 for 4, Walk, SB). Defensively Philip Goinzalez, Alex Smith were outstanding.

Anthony Grimaldi (2 RBI'S) hit his second home run of the season; Jonathon Livers (DOUBLE, 2 RBI'S) called another great game behind the plate; Adrian Kwan (3 HITS,1SB); Michael Aronov (3 HITS, 2 SB); John Grmalski (2 HITS, 1 SB); Domenick Fazzolari (2 WALKS, 1 SB); Domenico Fazzolari & Ace Goldstein played solid defense. The Jays came out strong taking the lead 4-1. The Surf came back in the 3rd scoring 4 runs but then the Jays answered back with 3. We had the dynamic duo on the mound of Steven P. & Steven F. We had Mark S. behind the plate throwing a runner out at 3rd. We had Kim B. making 3 clutch put outs at 2nd base in the last 2 innings. On the offense Dylan C. tacked on some RBI's with a double, Jimmy H. went 2 for 2, & Michael Z. had 2 walks. Nick S. played Short making a diving stop of a hard hit ball & Brian R. at 1st base. We had a tight outfield making some good stops with John R., Stephanos N. & Charles R. In the 6th the Surf had 2 base runners Steven F. got the batters to pop the ball, Kim B. was under for the put out .

The Expos took on the Orioles. It was a tough day for the Orioles who did their best with only 8 players. The Orioles each inning were one key hit away from scoring and one fielding play away from holding the Expos scoreless. The pitching of Jordan Grossman & Matthew Hirshon kept the game close. Brad Rukin led the hitting, and Matthew Gagnon & Spencer Edelstein were constantly on base. Mitchell Schwartz continued improving with a base hit while playing a solid 2nd base. Cory Zelniker showed improvement. Ben Todaro was solid all around.

The Expos started pitcher Matthew Peterson for his first pitching outing of the season and pitched a complete game holding the Orioles to 3 runs. The Expos bats were hot today, scoring 7 runs on 14 hits led by Logan Diamond, Matthew Ryan, Chris Dunne, Sam Nagelberg & Austin Vogelsberg. Jason Hoffman, Joshua Schulaman, Michael Ring & Mike West made great fielding plays. Coaches Jim Dunne and Stu Diamond and Expos parents' were proud of their teams performance today.

The Warriors & Bears squared off against each other last night with the Warriors holding on for the win. Led by a strong 4 inning pitching performance by Nicky Clifford (6 K's) and with David Luchino (4 K's) closing out the game. Strong hitting by Matt Dillon (1 for 2, triple, run scored, walk, RBI); David Luchino (1 for 2, run scored, walk, RBI); Rob Scatorchio (1 for 3, 2 SB's, RBI); Matt Miller (2 for 3, double); John Fitzgerald (1 for 3, triple, run scored); Harris Rivkin (2 for 3, RBI); Johnny Mahon (1 for 3); Danny Spratt (walk, run scored); Kevin Gagnon (1 for 2, walk); Nicky Clifford (2 walks, 2 runs scored). Turning a beautiful double play was Louis Simione to quiet a potential Bear rally. Solid defense by Pat McGonigle in the outfield and all Warriors defense.

The Pride scored 4 runs in the 1st on good base running & a 2 RBI hit by Jordan Friedman. Jordan had 2 more RBI's in the 3rd giving him 4 for the night. Matt Mueller added 2 more in the 5th, on a 3 for 3 night at the plate. Jared Root walked 3 times scoring twice. Tommy Roulis was pitching well but had to leave the game when he was hit by a pitch in the 3rd inning. Drew Carrick came on in relief and was outstanding. The Pride gave up 4 runs in the Ducks' 4th, but Carrick got them out of the jam. In the Ducks 6th, they again threatened, but Carrick once again rose to the challenge and shot them Ducks Down!.

Great pitching by Patrick Nicolello going 3 strong innings, Michael-Robert Lewis pitched the middle innings and Dylan Brolly came in to close out the game. The Bears came out swinging with the bats making contact at every at bat. Bobby Young was 2 for 3, with both Eric Hand & Chris Dluginski ripping hard shots for doubles. Kevin Seger playing injured did a great job from behind the plate while David Resnick secured the third base line. Thanks to Chris I. for filling in.

Hillside Beverage Cyclones (1) Vs.

Stutzmann Funeral Home Road Warriors (2)

This was the most thrilling game of the season and a fantastic pitching duel between Rob Scatorchio & Brian Lackner. The Cyclones scratched across a run in the 1st as Steve Phillips led off with a single. Kenny Richards pushed him into scoring position then Chris Kelly singled Steve home. The Warriors pushed across a lone run in the 3rd, setting up a very tense final few frames. Brian Lackner pitched 6 strong innings as the defense sparkled. Bradley Reider, John Macri & Scott Friedman made key defense plays to keep the game tied. In the extra inning, Robert Abballe lead off with a single then a single by Daniel Lee, but the Cyclones couldn't push across the go ahead run. Bottom of the 7th the Warriors load the bases and with a well placed single score the winning run.

Both teams should be proud of this game! Great pitching once again from Rob Scatorchio who went 6 innings while surrendering only 2 hits with 9 K's, followed by David Luchino's 1 inning relief appearance leaving 2 Cyclones on base. While the Cyclones pitching was up to the task we did manage to collect a few hits, Rob Scatorchio (2 for 3), David Luchino (1 for 3, double); Louis Simione (1 for 2, HB, run scored); Matt Miller (1 for 1, 2 walks, run scored) and Harris Rivkin (1 for 3, RBI). Harris Rivkin tied the score at 1 in the 3rd and Kevin Gagnon (1 for 4) saved his hit for the game winning RBI in the bottom of the 7th. Defensive was super in this led by Danny Spratt, Matt Dillon, Nicky Clifford & John Fitzgerald.

Dr. LoRusso-Pesiri, DC Racers Vs. Mineola

The Racers played another nail biter against a tough Mineola squad. The Racers were led by the amazing sister duo of Katie and Maria Pesiri. Maria had 3 hits and Katie had 4 putouts and 3 assists defensively along with 4 hits. Brianna Patrizzi also helped the cause with a good defensive effort and added 3 hits.

The third match-up this season between these two teams proved to be a great one! After a scoreless first and some tough defense, the Heat still managed to push five runs across. Good game - and remember girls, run through first!

Applebee's Restaurant Heat

The Dragons played a really nice game against a tough Heat team. My star of the game goes to Melissa Thomas with two outstanding plays to get out two runners at third base. Melissa also had a hit to round out a great game by her. Kristen R. & Josette M. played well in the field to get some key outs. Natalie P., Christine V, Jessica V., Katelyn B., Brianna R. & Nicole K. did great hitting the softball and running like the wind.

Applebee's Restaurant Heat

Vs. ABC Rental Dragons

The Heat battled the Dragons Friday and girls you certainly gave your all at the plate in another offensive gem! Laura Roantree came out of a slump going 5 for 6 while Nicole Rossello & Keeley McGrath continue to hit the ball hard. Jessica Donofrio, Cara Mattioli, Tara Sirotkin, Vishali Sehgal & Emilee Abel all hit with runners in scoring position all adding up to 18 runs scored. A few defensive highlights, Keeley McGrath with a pop-up catch that almost turned into a double play and Emilee Abel making all 3 outs in the 4th at the plate. The Heat continue to sizzle!

T. F. O'Brien Roadsters Vs. Mineola

Roadsters win on a cold night in Mineola. Despite cold conditions, the Roadsters fought back to win another close contest. Nicole Bateman, Alicia Brewer, Gina Cacchioli, and Jillian Graziano led the way with key hits. Allison Hand did a terrific job behind the plate. Rachel Hand and Kelly Kerrane came up with numerous defensive gems. Great Game Girls!

New Hyde Park Team #2 (8)

The Riptide had an offensive explosion today scoring 20 runs against New Hyde Park. The offense was sparked by Sydnie. Vicki and Brianna each reaching base 4 times. Solid pitching from Cristina.

The girls continue to improve on defense with sparkling plays turned in by Larissa and Stephanie.

The Riptide improved their record to an impressive 6 - 0 with a hard fought win over a tough Mineola team. The star of the game was clearly Elizabeth with a terrific pitching performance and 2 long homeruns and 7 RBI's. Plenty of support with solid defensive plays turned in by Vicki and Chloe. Also contributing on offense were Stephanie and Teresa. Keep up the great work.
