TOP Soccer

Despite a gloomy forecast, we had a field filled with sunny dispositions and resumed our program after a few rain-soaked Saturdays. With a scaled-down team we combined the players into one game. The blue team jumped out to a lead on the offensive prowess of Andrew Abberton and Matt Saraiva, who each tallied 2 goals. Nick Pusateri had an assist and played some spirited soccer in midfield. Debbie Chin had a solid all-around game. The red team scratch and struggled to get back in the game. Stefani Egre was outstanding with a 3-goal hat trick and Billy Russo's aggressiveness paid off on a loose-ball goal. However, they ran out of time and wound up one goal short. Ryan McCurry was a spark plug with his pinpoint passing and deceptive dribbling. Alex Warner, Christian Buccellato and Joshua Stark provided super support with great defensive tackles. Sebastian Garcia had some great saves in goal.

In two weeks we travel to Levittown for their first-ever TOPSoccer Tournament. Rich Bletsch, Director

N.H.P. Lady Jaguars Advance to the U-10

Girls Semi-Finals of the ENYYSA State Cup

May 7th,2005

The Lady Jaguars traveled to Stony Point, N.Y. to face the N.

Rockland Magic in the Quarter Final Round of the ENYYSA State Cup. The Magic had no "tricks" up their sleeves as the Lady Jags made them disappear from the State Cup Tournament by the score of 2-0. The Lady Jags had another outstanding performance from Ashley Tuffy, in goal, who recorded her 2nd straight shutout. Ashley who handled all of the Magic's shots was extremely sharp on a direct kick that was curving towards the corner post. The defense was the difference in the game. They were able to stop a much bigger and physical team by the aggressive play of Julianne Randazzo, Meaghan Ginty, Gabby Tomasini and Emma McGrath. As a

matter of fact they also figured into the scoring. Julianne Randazzo scored the first Jaguars goal from her right side fullback position. As Jillian Graziano (Assist) gathered in a rebounding ball she passed back to Julianne who struck the ball on a full run burying the ball in the upper portion of the net! The 2nd goal was scored by Gabby Tomasini on a nice bang, bang passing play from Meaghan Ginty (Assist) and Ailish Malone (Assist). (Meaghan was also denied a goal that the referee missed when the ball crossed the Magic's goal line.) "The girls did a nice job moving the ball against a much Bigger and physical team" exclaimed Asst. Coach Bernard Malone. The trip was well worth it as the Lady Jags will now be playing their Semi-Final match at Home in N.H.P. We would hope

to have the continued support of all the families and friends that have

supported us through out this tournament. The Lady Jaguars are Jillian Graziano, Meaghan Ginty, Julianne Randazzo, Erica Sousa, Emma Innella, Ailish Malone, Ailison Ricchiutti, Emma McGrath, Gabriella Tomasini, Jillian Stacom, Vincenza Decrescenzo and Ashley Tuffy.

NHP Lady Stormcats 1 - Bethpage Blaze 5.

Boy oh boy, Bethpage was blazin' this morning, catching our team off guard several times during today's match. The girls have shown continued progress in certain areas of play which is a good thing, but we also had some breakdowns at crucial times of the game and Bethpage took advantage of that by the manner in which they handled and distributed the ball. The girls will develop as they go along and hopefully we will all see the positive results. This beautiful game is based on team work, and the girls must learn to rely on one another to progress. Learning and playing different positions on field will only make the girls better well-rounded players in the long run. Keep working girls, everyone of these girls played great at times during the game but now we need to work on consistency and team play. Roshni Amin, Nicole Bateman, Alicia Brewer, Amanda Cavallaro, Dana Davis, Kelly Kerrane, Gina Marrano, Alexandra Pappacena, Emily Rennie, Paige Rigas and Melanie Sferrazza....are the Lady Stormcats.
