At the last village board meeting of the Village of New Hyde Park Mayor Daniel Petruccio said that the village has made great inroads in ridding the village of illegal occupancies. He said he felt it was due to the fact that when caught the fines the landlords must pay are so exorbitant. He said, "The fines alone are upwards of $20,000 and add that to the legal fees, it's a lot of money for a landlord to pay for renting an illegal apartment." FULL STORY

The Dodgers defeated a tough Twins team at Manor Oaks Field by a score of 16-15. Only the second game of the season, but these teams battled each other showing off their skills as if they had been playing all winter long. Ryan O'Donnell, Corey Rutkin, Kyle Donohue, Benjamin Portnoy & Francesco Labito continued to hit the ball well this week. Erik Jaklitsch, Justin Didonato John Paul Sanchez & Andrew Filocoma were also impressive with their at-bats as they continue to improve early this season.
