Suozzi Delivers State-of-the-County Address
Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi delivered his annual state-of-the-county address, the last one before his campaign for re-election this November, at Wisdom Lane Middle School in Levittown. In the address, the county executive touted the economic recovery Nassau County has made during his tenure. However, Nassau County Minority Leader Peter Schmitt criticized Suozzi for raising taxes and fees while, he said, services continue to deteriorate.

Army Reserve Hospital Presents Flag to Club for Afghan Support
Among the highlights of the March 15 General Meeting of the Greater Long Island Running Club was the presentation of an American Flag and Certificate of Appreciation to the club from the US Army Reserve's 325th Combat Field Hospital Unit in appreciation of the club's support for the unit's drive to gather and distribute shoes and school supplies to the children and young adults of Afghanistan, where the unit was stationed.
