Merillon Athletic Association
The Cubs played their last game of the fall season on an overcast and misty day. The Cubs again played short-handed as colds led the way for our team. I want to thank the families for allowing me to coach these great kids and for your support and commitment to the team; I hope to see you all in the spring. To all the players I want to say thank you for playing hard, having fun, and understanding when I promised two or three of you the same position at the same time. For me the most important thing was your improvement and the fun you had with your team. You will not find a better run program than Merillon and I hope you consider coming back next year. For myself, if my job permits, I will coach again with the hope of keeping some of these kids together. As for the game, good job in the field and at the bat for James, Thomas, Jared, Jacob, Matthew, Darren, Michael and Patrick. Thanks to the coaches and parents for helping out and the Vietri Family for their sponsorship. I have stated this before but it's worth repeating: "Kids playing baseball, still the sweetest sound in America" Thanks.... Lou Messina
