Under auspicious skies, 15 players ventured onto the soccer field. After our usual warm-ups, the group practiced their dribbling and shooting skills with a full field obstacle course. And even though the skies were threatening to open up with rain, we were very lucky and we were able to play our usual games. The junior game was once again a high scoring event. Their game ended in a 8-8 tie. Ryan was back this week and had six goals for the Blue team with Dean and Joseph adding a goal apiece. The Red team was not to be outdone, with Robert as the high scorer of 4 goals. Josh and Paul complemented each other with two hard fought goals. The senior game also ended in a tie. They finished their excellent game with the score of 6-6. The Blue team jumped out ahead with two quick goals, Andrew on a breakaway and Matt with a blast from outside the box. But then the Red team started putting some plays together. Stefani was dynamite in scoring all six goals for the Red team with great support from Billy and Karen as midfielders. Debbie was awesome as the lone defender and Nicholas was great up on the offensive line. Giovanni was steadfast as a defender and Eugene as a midfielder had two terrific goals. Matt and Andrew added two more goals at the end to tie up the game. Thanks to all our helpers who did a terrific job running both the senior and junior games.

Little Princesses vs Dolphins - The Little Princesses and the Dolphins played a hard fought, exciting game this week. As hot as the weather was, the Little Princesses' were even hotter, yet the talented Dolphins team played them toe to toe the whole game. The Little Princesses' offensive was clicking on all cylinders this week. Ashley Willoughby and Catherine Lyons were around the ball all afternoon creating havoc for the Dolphins defense. Showing great offensive skills again this week were Dana Battaglini and Tara Sirotkin. Tallying goals this week were Yasmine Bacchus, who expertly dribbled through the defense before sending one to the back of the net. Also ringing up their first goals of the season were Jessica Fox, who was all over the field this week and Victoria Mooney, who showed off her powerful dribbling before sending one home. Leah Bodh played strong on defense and also made some super saves in goal. Valerie Loffredo played a solid offensive and defensive game, despite some nagging pains. Great all around effort by all the girls on an extremely hot day. We missed you Sarahelena Barrios and Coach Juan. See everyone at the tournament.

The Thundercats and Barbie Power - Both teams played a very competitive game on a sweltering Sunday afternoon. All the girls did a great job playing in very hot and humid conditions. This week Eva Chan and Emily Park played goal. Both girls did a fantastic job of keeping the ball out of our net and distributing the ball to their teammates. Jillian Clark, Alana Leahy, and Bridgette Stacom all played a strong defensive game. The girls kept pushing the ball away from our goal and passing it up to our offense to create scoring opportunities. Our offense was supplied by the strong play of Camille Bangug, Daniella Fusaro, and Emily Smith. The offense continued to press the ball towards our opponent's goal. Great job to all the girls. Keep up the good work soccer players.

5/16/04 - Lady Tigers - The Lady Tigers were a little short handed for their game against a tough Soccer Cubs team on Sunday but you couldn't tell by their effort. On a hot sunny day the girls played their usual team oriented game with great passing, defense and goaltending. Morgan Roth and Jennifer Louie led the way each scoring a goal on the day. Laila Chadli and Kiera Ward were unbelievable chasing down every loose ball possible, while Amanda Namandorf and Devin Kilcullen were absolutely

spectacular in goal. Jenna Loughran showed great support on both offense and defense all day. This group of wonderful girls that I have the pleasure of watching improve week after week continue to impress the crowd with great passing, defense and overall team chemistry. Keep up the hard work and most of all keep having fun. Brittany, Roey and Rosalia we missed you and can't wait to have you back next week.

Soccer Puppies - The Soccer Puppies suffered a tough 1-0 loss at the hands of the Lady Tigers. The game was scoreless until the waning minutes of the second half when the Lady Tigers scored the game's only goal. Kayla, Erin, Keeley, Lisa, Martha, Danielle, Marissa, Kathryn and Jacqueline were all tenacious on defense. The Soccer Puppies had several scoring opportunities but were turned back by a strong Lady Tigers defense.

Soccer Power 1 Shadow Cats 2 - In the championship battle both teams played like "CHAMPIONS" under the extremely hot sun. The girls played tough through this very hot and humid day and never quit. The Soccer Power had many, many attempts on goal but only managed to land one goal when Dena Cavallaro once again ran the ball up the entire field and passed it up to Hannah Zeitlin who sent the bullet into the net! Our hats go off to the Shadow Cats in their victory! I am very proud of the hard work and sportsmanship my girls showed this season. This is what brought you here today. You all did a fantastic job and should feel proud of yourselves ... way to go Soccer Power! I was so impressed and encouraged as each girl's soccer skills progressed from start to finish. Coach Rich Cavallaro.

Shadow Cats 2 Soccer Power 1 - We came, we saw, and we conquered. The team that finished 4th Place in the regular season made a run in the playoffs which ended with the championship. Congratulations to the Soccer Power for finishing in second and giving us a great championship game. The game started with both teams going back and forth with numerous scoring chances. Ellen Carnero came up with 2 huge saves to keep the Soccer Power scoreless as we ended the half. Shadow Cats then rubbed our lucky rock and came out in the second half and took control. Both goals scored by Madison Cascio, one on a great shot off a goal kick and another with a great pass from Taylor Ross. Playing absolutely tremendous on defense was Alana Cohen and Kathy Kariotis. The midfield was relentless with terrific play by Brianna Morrone, Sarah Romangli, and Susan Daily. Natalie Bracco was amazing with her play on defense and midfield. With us in spirit was Valerie Harrison and Kaitlyn Boccarossa. Congratulation Shadow Cats on your championship season. Thanks for a great season girls- Chris

Rainbow Cats - A warm beautiful day for the last soccer game. The Rainbow Cats played an action packed game against the dynamite Soccer Tigers. Great goalkeeping shared by Jenna Ferrante, Meghan Lotti, Sarah Lopresti, Ariana Bruschi and Victoria McDermott. Super defense with fast running and quick feet by Marissa Pino helped protect the goal area. Rebecca Locurto was terrific on defense staying with the ball and clearing the goal area. Meghan Lotti made super passes and stayed in the play as midfielder. Victoria McDermott was dynamite on defense stopping the offensive pressure. Crisp dribbling and strong shots by Arianna Bruschi resulted in two goals. Jenna Ferrante displayed great dribbling and scored on a well-placed kick. Lisa Caliguri consistently kept up the offensive pressure and made an excellent kick and sent the ball into the back of the net. Sarah Lopresti did some incredible dribbling, staying with the action and also sent the ball over the goal line. We missed Gina Cacchioli and Maria Gorman. Thank-you to the wonderful Rainbow Cat players and families for a super season. It was an honor to coach this fantastic team, have a safe, fun summer-Coach Steve.

Thundercats - On a hot and steamy Sunday afternoon the Thundercats finished their season as they began with a tough, well played win.Our offense was again powered by Christine Bunyon, Stephanie Jozkowski and a combination of Elena Kalosinis and Alexandra Pallisco.Christine had 3 goals with some super passing on the front line . All season long our defensive line played excellent games and they once again came up big in our final game. Anchored by Eve Rigas at center they thwarted many drives by the Princessess. Jean Marie Castaldi, Karen Pan and Samantha Bangug all were great in both stopping offensive rushes and also clearing the ball. Finally ,our goalie who was always there for us all season, Celeste Bunyon, was tremendous stopping some very tough shots from right in front of the goal. We were sorry that Megan Iovino could not play due to an injury but hopefully we'll see you next year. A very special thanks to all the girls and parents for your support all season long

Princesses 2 Thunder Cats 3 - The Princesses concluded their season under extremely hot weather against a strong Thunder Cats team. Both teams gave it everything they had despite the weather. Gina Timpano once again tallied two goals for the Princesses in leading the Princesses scoring. Claire Lanzo set up Gina for the second of her two goals with a great break out pass. Katie Colgan had a strong offensive game, just missing two goals because of the Thundercats strong goal tending. Brittany Willoughby and Marisa Bartos were also active around the net just missing on several strong scoring chances. Karina Yu played solid, alternating between the offensive and defensive zones. Rachael Kavanagh held her ground and denied numerous Thunder Cats rushes. Rebecca Lewis again was all over the field, providing solid defense and impressive offense. Sofia Klapow played super the first half in the goal, making several strong saves. Kamdambari took over the nets for the second half and made numerous saves from point blank range. The Princesses' enjoyed a fantastic season and really grew and bonded together. The Princesses' parents were tremendous all season in supporting the girls. Thank you! Thank you also to Coach Kal for all your time and effort this season! We could not have enjoyed any of our success without you. Great season Princesses'! See everyone at the pizza party.

Lady Stormcats 1- ShootingStars 0..... Congratulations to both teams today, enduring the heat and playing their tails off today. I'd like to thank all the girls for their tireless effort through-out the spring season and applaud their play on the field. The Lady Stormcats made me smile an awful lot this season and I had fun(most of the time!) hahaa.... Today's game was a tough contest and finally teamwork paid off when the girls started a beautiful counter-attack from the backfield on a pass from Gina Marrano to the attacking wing on the right side Amanda Cavallaro who took the ball into the corner and then placed a beautiful pass onto the foot of the waiting Larisa Dittrich center on the net, who sent it into the net. Erica Sousa continued her diligent work of stopping any attack coming her way and had many shots on goal. April Leong and Enza and Maria DeCrescenzo were determined throughout the match, constantly battling for possession just falling short of scoring themselves. Alicia Brewer and Jennifer McHale shared Keeper duties today, playing super and came up with the shut-out! Thank-you girls for a job well done this season. Good luck to you all. Thanks for all the family support. Thanks to Bill Brewer for his help with coaching and to all the parents for all the cheers...and especially for the oranges and juices throughout the season...Have a fun-tastic summer!! Coach Dominic.

Super Chargers vs. The Lady Tigers - In an exciting game, the Super Chargers bested a very tough Lady Tigers team led by Coach Tom McGrath 2-1. Thanks to the Super Chargers playing tough, in very hot conditions, with no subs they were able to advance to the Championship Game. The game was very well played by both teams with no goals being scored in the first half. In the 2nd half the Lady Tigers got on the board 1st with a beautiful shot by Emma McGrath on a direct kick from outside of the box. The Chargers scoring came on two nice passing plays by Game Capt. Dana Davis (2 Assists)to Emma Innella who scored the goals. Great defense by game co-Capt. Jessica Licari held the Lady Tigers from scoring anymore goals. Amanda Nugent was steady in goal with 6 Saves. Thank you again Coach Tom and the Lady Tigers for a well played game. The Super Chargers are Angelina Gambino, Emma Innella, Emily Reilly, Rachel Krieger, Dana Davis, Jessica Licari and Amanda Nugent. We missed Jenna Bacchus today but look forward to her return for the Championship Game. Thank you to all the enthusiastic parents who came out to cheer the teams on!

Lady Tigers 1 Superchargers 2 - In a game played in sweltering heat both sets of teams must be commended for playing such a terrific match. The Lady Tigers just were not clicking on all cylinders today. Everybody gave it their all. In goals Gianna and Erin played terrific. Defense was marshaled by Emma and Ashley. The midfielders in Brianna, Marissa, Alexandria and Julianne kept going all day long. Megan tried her best up front. I would like to compliment Emma on probably playing one of her finest games ever and capping it off with a well-taken goal. Thanks for a great season girls from both coaches T1 and T2. It has been our pleasure to coach you.

TopCats vs. Thunder Cats - Once again the Top Cats came out on top! This Semi-final game was played in 90 degree+ heat and the Top Cats had NO subs! What a tremendous effort was made by the Top Cats against the tough Thunder Cats. The Top Cats scored right away on a goal by Jillian S (she scored 2 more!). Followed by a tremendous goal by Gabriella T. Joanna S on offense stayed tough throughout the game. Of course, we could not have won without the tenacious playing of Jennifer M, Alexis S and Rashni A on defense. Thanks to Jennifer H for playing a great goalie today. Between the heat and no subs I just want to thank the girls for not giving up and playing hard to the end. Good luck Girls. Here's to the finals!

N.H.P. Magic Cat 3 Vs. Newfield Spirit 0 - First I would like to mention that this was a double header weekend for the Magic Cats. Saturday's game vs Northport was an exciting game from start to finish by both teams playing under extreme heat and physical play. Northport prevailed long into the second half scoring the winning goal. Game score 2 -1. The Magic Cats next journey would take them out again to Suffolk County to a place called Newfield. With game faces on the Magic attack led by Stacey Wood with her first hat trick of the season, assisted twice by Nicole Contrada and again by Shannon Kearney both at midfield seemed to be clicking throughout the game. Strong support from Ali Nilsen, Megan Favale and Kristen Flynn, also at midfield gave our strikers Ashley Minda and Jen Fox some great opportunities to give the N.S. goalie a grueling work out. But it was that defensive wall, Ali Siciliano, Samantha Stavish and Mary Insinga with keeper Amy Maxwell, keeping the ball out of our zone for most of the game!! Congratulations to the McCune family with the new arrival of their son John Patrick. We missed you Megan McCune and Laura Carr. Coach Steve. Go Magic.

May 22

Magic Cats 4 vs. Dix Hills Storm 1 - This was a game the Magic Cats waited two and a half years to play! It was well worth the wait. The magic cats came out on fire. Ala- Bama Nilsen came one goal shy of a hat trick. One goal scored from a corner kick and the other from a blast outside the 18 meter box, both in the first half of the game. Constant pressure from our defense, Ali Siciliano, who had one of her best games to date with strong support from her wings, Mary Insinga and Sammie Stavish shut down the D.H.S. attack. Once again our midfield stopper Kristen Flynn, Megan McCune in the middle with Laura Carr, Shannon Kearney, Nicole Contrada and Megan Favale at midfield showed great strength and precision passing, were the winning formula in getting the ball to our forwards so they could keep the pressure on the Storm's defense. Within the first three minutes into the second half Jen Fox blew past three Storm defenders and their keeper to put number three in for the Magic. There were many shots on goal taken between Ashley Minda and Stacey Wood on the forward line with Stacey getting our fourth goal of the game. Great job from Amy Maxwell in goal, showing good leadership in our end. Great game and job well done!!! Coach Steve***GO MAGIC*!

Lady Pumas 4- Manhasset Explosion 0 - The Lady Pumas continued their winning ways with a 4-0 defeat of Manhasset. Alexa State and Nicole Taliercio split the game in goal, both girls shutting out Manhasset. Nicole Taliercio scored the first goal, followed by Jessica Calabro, and 2 from Christina Burkey (with an assist on one by Jessica Calabro). Defenders Brittany Astacio, Nicole Ganz, Alexa State, and Jenna Biccierro were once again amazing. The offense was powered by Laura DeLuca, Kristen Boccarossa, Jenna Bicierro, Michelle Pollizzano, Jenny Hogan, and Jaime Nizzo. This was by far the best performance these girls have had this year. Their teamwork was exceptional. They currently have a league record of 5-2 and are in second place, one point behind the leader. Last week, the Lady Pumas defeated Commack 3-0 on a hat trick by Christina Burkey and shutout goalkeeping by Nicole Taliercio to advance to the Waldbaums final on June 13 and improve their record to 9 - 2 overall.

Manchester United vs. Liverpool

Though today was a sweltering one, the playing on the field was as hot as the weather. Manchester United's teamwork in this game was unbelievable. Peter Gadze and Chris Ernest worked together to score goals for Manchester United, relentlessly breaking through the defensive wall and firing away. Midfielders Kenneth Choy and Mark Gimelstein were the backbone of the team, constantly running and taking the game to the next level. Powerhouse defensive play by Andrew Yu, Aseer Amin, and Eric Bialczak, who led some attacks on offense as well as played well in defense. The game would not have been won had it not been for their blasts and blocks, always ready for the next attack. Ricky Schlueck stepped in as goalie and did a great job, with diving saves that kept us in the game. We missed you, Jonathan! Overall, it was a fine game. Manchester United, you boys have worked hard all season, and have emerged undefeated. Your determination has now brought you to the playoffs. Good luck!

Blackburn vs. Everton

An incredible match between two very motivated squads playing with a tremendous amount of intensity. Goals scored today by Angelo Mancini and Daniel Lorandini off a well earned Penalty. Both Angelo's goals came as a result of his persistence and hard work. A fine effort today from all particularly Michael Aranov, Thomas Flower, Chris Rocco, Jason Papadopoulos, and Dan Arkin. Another fine showing in net by Troy Driscoll. We missed you Kevin. As a coach I must say this has been an incredibly exciting and fulfilling season filled with passion and a very high level of play. I would like to thank Dominic Mancini and Ed Flower for their help this season. Much improved play from Michael Aranov and Jason Papadopoulos throughout the season. Kevin Birkdale always playing with heart- always a pleasure to have. Thanks to Chris Rocco for stepping in the net when we needed him. Thomas Flower a team player no matter where he is asked to play. Dan Arkin- relentless! Your best season yet. Angelo Mancini - tough as nails. Keep working hard. Troy Driscoll provided some great saves and very exciting moments both on the field and in net. Daniel Lorandini, your mom and I are very proud of your maturity and a well played season. Thanks boys for an exciting season.

Arsenal vs. Newcastle

On one of the hottest days of the year and with no subs available, Arsenal reached deep down to come up with a 4-3 victory over an equally determined Newcastle team. Nick Perrone opened up the scoring coming up from his full back position to put in a long rebound. Mike Marini turned and burned one in, on a heads up throw in from Matt Perno. With little time left John Tripptree came up with the winner on which the entire Arsenal team gets an assist. Big credit goes to Joe Carbone who time after time ran down loose balls with his amazing speed. Alex Montoni was relentless in midfield, his ball pressure led to scoring chances. Finally, Kyle Tripptree was a stone wall on defense. He stopped so many Newcastle attacks, one could not keep count. The team efforts of Arsenal is one to be proud of. The team completed an undefeated regular season against outstanding competition. Good luck in the playoffs. Newcastle played a great game in this heat. Kevin Towey's Corner to a missed flying header by Chris Kariotis bounced off a defender for the score. Chris Kariotis also blasted in a goal from Kevin's pass to the middle. Dylan Ross had a very close, but missed shot over the top post. Joe Carbone also came close with a blast to the goalie. Mark Roantree, Tim Chan, and Bryan Baracaldo gave us some great sliding stops on defense to keep it close. Eric Samain and Domenico Fazzolari made incredible saves. See you in the playoffs!

USA vs. England

Fine game by England against a shorthanded team USA. Great offensive play by Mike Randazzo, Noel James, Tyler Carrick and Andrew Curcio who scored his first goal of the season. Tough defense by Matt Sartoris and Mark Fuller. Another nice job in net by Dominic Acquista. Keep up the teamwork boys and let's get ready for the playoffs!
