Because of the hard work by Coach George, and Coach Mike of the Cardinals, Dietz field was made to look like Yankee Stadium! The field was soaked from heavy rain the day before, and their work made it possible for the New Hyde Park Elks Club Brewers and the Cardinals to play. All the Brewer players and parents give a big thank you to both of you! As for the game, it was a good one. All 13 Brewer players were present, and contributed to the victory. Daniel Schwartz played with streph throat; Max Duval got hit in the face with a pitched ball, and begged to stay in the game, after which he stole two bases. Liam Slattery turned the big 08 last Saturday. Happy Birthday! The rest of the Brew Crew Joe Carbone, Andrew Pugliese, Justin Diamond, Tyler Cohen (who also played with bloody nose) Mark Jason, Domenico Fazzolari, Domenick Fazzolari, Dylan Forrester, Akaash Ranu, and Matthew Zeiger...all contributed with their bats and gloves! Coach Al is very pleased with the way you guys are coming together.

The table setters Ace Goldstien, Dylan Clark, Chris Ianiro and Harrison Pravder were finding there way on base to get things going all game long. Pitching and defense is what put the Orioles over the top led by Chris Dluginski tossing three innings striking out 8 Astros. David Leibell came in to close out the final three innings facing only 11 hitters. David was throwing extremely hard and gave up only 2 hits and 1 run with 2 strike outs! Applebee's Pirates (8)

Two Upper Farms call ups had a chance to impress the big club and did, Andrew Pugliese & Joe Carbone each had hits and figured in the scoring. Insiders say they will be invited to Spring training next year with a good chance to make the big club! Josh Graber took the ball and gained his first victory with a complete game while maintaining a no hitter through 3. He certainly helped his cause with 8 assists and 2 runs scored while getting 2 hits. His battery mate J.D. Delnevo smacked his 2nd round tripper of the season while taking charge behind the plate. Chris Sanchez distinguished himself defensively anchoring the outfield in center making 2 clutch rally killing catches while also scoring a run. The Ducks got their bats going in the fifth inning. Chris ripped a single and Shane hit a hard fielders choice. Ryan followed with a double and then Shane came home on a pass ball to tie the game. Solid hitting from Kelly, Cassandra Calvacca, Christina Falco, Chelsea Mayorga, Jaclyn Triptree, Nicole Puma, Kara Innella and Alexandra Doreste.
