Aurora M. (Armento) Temple, 94-years-old, died on Jan. 8, at St. Patrick's Manor in Farmingham, MA. She was the wife of the late John L. Temple who died in June of 1985. She was born in New York City, New York, daughter of the late Antonio and Josephine (Zasa) Armento and was a longtime resident of New Hyde Park, New York.
She was a graduate of The College of New Rochelle and also earned masters degrees in French and Social Work at Columbia University. She was employed for many years as a social worker with Catholic Charities of New York. In addition she was a founding member and former president of the New Hyde Park Civilian Patrol and also performed volunteer work for numerous organizations including the Vincent Viscardi School for Developmentally Disabled Children. She is survived by daughter, JoEllen Temple Baur and her husband Wolfgang, of Northridge, California; two sons, Edward "Bob" Temple of Palmero, Maine and Thomas "Jeff" Temple and his wife Rita of Acton, MA; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 10, at 9:30 a.m. in the Holy Family Chapel of St. Patrick's Manor, 863 Central St., Framingham. A period of visitation will be held at the chapel before the Mass from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Committal services and burial was held on Jan. 12, at 1 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Queens, Long Island, New York. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham.
