As we all know our 25th Anniversary Dinner Dance was held on Friday, Nov.14th and thanks to the help of many it proved to be a success. We were lucky enough to have many beautiful raffles to auction off and we are very grateful to all who donated to this cause.

Championship Game

Arsenal vs. Newcastle

In a great match worthy of championship play, team Arsenal showed great effort and skills but came up short against a powerful New Castle. Team Arsenal's game strategy starts with a great keeper like Mike Marini, who is able to make acrobatic saves and then punt the ball into the attack zone. Next we have outstanding fullbacks. Joe Carbone is the anchor here, he knows where all his teammates are and keeps the field organized. The Dans, Fulop and Arkin, played outstandingly. They kept the New Castle attack at bay and gave support to our own attack getting the long ball through to our front line. What can you say about our relentless group of attack players led by Nick Perrone, Alex Montoni, Paul Smolenski and Gabriel Skugor. These guys ran onto loose balls, attacked rebounds and put in three second and third effort goals. To the entire team of Arsenal- job well done! Your coaches and parents are very proud. On behalf of Coach Joe Carbone and myself, we would like to extend congratulations to Newcastle. It has been a real treat to coach the boys of Arsenal and we look forward to the spring season.

Newcastle was ready for Arsenal's weapons. Everyone contributed to this clash of the Titans. Domenico "Shutout" Fazzolari saved a shot off the mouth and continued to play with a cut lip. Chris "Big Foot" Kariotis charged a breakaway and jammed his fingers saving a goal. Anthony "Stone" Ianni was taken down hard giving his all on defense. Daniel "Pressure" Adams and Joe "Hustle" Carrotta stepped up with huge stops turning away many near goals. Angelo "Never Give Up" Mancini was the "Wall" on defense sweeping many attacks and creating a few breakaways. Chris "Lightning" Ernest proved that he is one of the fastest sprinters in the league scoring a couple of goals. Luke "Cutie" Georges showed the league that he hasn't lost his touch finding the back of the net from John's great cross. John "Amazing" Tomasini dazzled us with his winning goals, as well as his leadership, determination and attitude - the "Rock" of this team's success. A big thank you to assistant coach Dominic Mancini, and all of the parents, for your support. Thanks to Arsenal for a memorable game! See you all in the spring!
