I have been utilizing the services of Cornell Cooperative Extension for many years, but I may not be able to do that much longer.
That is because Cornell Cooperative did not receive the $420,000 it requested from Nassau County and many of its programs will have to come to an end. One of those programs is the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. There is no other agency in the county authorized to run this program that brings in $90,000 in additional federal funds. But without county financial support that money will be lost and the program will cease to exist.
That's just one example of the many critical programs that will disappear if additional funding for Cornell Cooperative Extension cannot be found.
