William C. (Coby) Hough, 92, of Mallard Landing in Salisbury, MD, died on Sept. 4, 2003 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He leaves his wife, Leona Woods Hough; a daughter, Sandra Stricker (Michael) of Bishopville; two sons, Coles Terry Hough (Janet) of Ocean City and William Colton Hough Jr. (Jacqueline) of Longmont, CO; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two wives, Marjorie Kirtchenbauer Hough and Katherine Lewis Hough preceded him in death. Mr. Hough was born in Baltimore, MD, on Oct. 14, 1910, the youngest child of Harry E. Hough and Louise Methany Hough. Six siblings predeceased him.
A longtime resident of East Williston, Mr. Hough retired as vice president of American Bank Stationery in 1975. Coby, as he was known to friends and family, was an avid inventor and held patents for a number of household tools. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing aboard his boat, the Bluewater, out of Ocean City and Florida. Mr. Hough moved to New York in 1991, whereupon he and his wife Lee divided their time between homes in Ocean City, MD, and Stuart, FL. They moved to Salisbury in June of this year. Ethel Irene Brady 86, formerly of Floral Park, died on Sept. 5, 2003. Mother of Maureen Susan Walsh, Patrick and Ethel Anne. Also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John M. McDermott Sr., 75, of Floral Park, died on Sept. 8, 2003. Husband of Alice. Father of Ann Kaye, John Jr., Christine Hanratty, Denise Kelly and Michele Fogarty. Brother of Claire Greaney, Joan Curran and Robert McDermott. Father-in-law of Eric Kaye, Beth McDermott, Brian Hanratty, Michael Kelly and Michael Fogarty. Grandfather of Brian, Michael John, Rebecca, Gabriel, Shannon, Brendan, Michael Christopher, Aidan and John Mason III. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home.
