Judge Roberto Rules in Favor of Town; GOP to Appeal
As reported in our last issue, Nassau County Supreme Court Judge Robert Roberto, in response to the lawsuit filed by North Hempstead Town Republican Leader Peter Cavallaro, has ruled in favor of the town. The question was whether or not the town or the Board of Elections, under the town local law, may establish wards (councilmatic districts) for the election of members to its legislative body.

Rain Wreaks Havoc with Road Drainage in Village
Quite a few residents were present at the last meeting of the New Hyde Park Village Board to complain about the amount of flooding during this rainy season on their streets due to a faulty drainage problem. New Hyde Park Wildcats Soccer Roundup
This year, there were three Bob Fiston Memorial Awards given out. The winners included Theresa Longenecker (Sacred Heart Academy), Corinne Tisei (Herricks High School), and Alison Fliegel (New Hyde Park Memorial High School). Bob Fiston was the past president of the New Hyde Park Wildcats Soccer Club and passed away suddenly in August of 1997.
