Christopher Devane has declared that he is running for the position of New Hyde Park Village Justice in the March 18 election that will be held at Marcus Christ Hall, adjacent to New Hyde Park Village Hall, corner of New Hyde Park Road and Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, from noon to 9 p.m.

Lisa Karcic Scores 1,000 Points in Basketball
Lisa Karcic, eleventh grade student at New Hyde Park Memorial, achieved a basketball milestone by scoring her 1,000 point while her basketball team was playing against Bishop Kearney High School of Brooklyn in January.

News of New Hyde Park Gladiator Baseball
The 2003 New Hyde Park Gladiators Varsity Baseball team is already embarking on another season. This year's group of seniors are already proving that they will provide quality leadership. Four-year starter Matt Tesoriero will be behind the plate again. In 2002, Matt received all-county honors along with his noteworthy .389 batting average. All league honorable mentions Frank Sonnenburg (3-3, 3.65 ERA) and Matt Farina will be counted on heavily for their pitching and hitting. Senior Chris Lewandowski returns after an excellent junior season (2-2, 3.79 ERA) in hope of locking up a spot in the starting rotation. Senior Mike Caputo will be in the outfield this season. He hit .326 in 2002 during his junior year. Finally, senior Matt Suckle will be playing infield and is in a battle for the leadoff position in the lineup.
